International standards in the field of agro-industry

IMG_9486.JPG

The sphere of agro-industry has always played an important role in the economy of each state. Moreover, the development of technology and the agricultural industry has always proceeded simultaneously and synthesized. Since the global understanding of this topic has long gone away from the context of farming and households, it is necessary to note the importance of the correct establishment of a system of interaction between countries, which became possible thanks to the emergence of international standards. Since the significance of these regulatory legal acts is difficult to overestimate, we would like to present you some of the most popular and latest documents regulating various levels of the agricultural industry.

Wheat flour and durum wheat semolina -- Determination of impurities of animal origin

ISO 11050:2020

Flour and its derivatives are now used in all cuisines of the world. Since such a global popularity of the use of the product is gaining momentum on a global scale, then regulation should also occur globally. One of the international standards for this product is ISO 11050: 2020. This document specifies a method for determining the content of impurities of animal origin in wheat flours, with or without additives and having an ash yield not exceeding a mass fraction of 0,75 %, and in durum wheat semolinas. This method permits the separation and quantification of contamination of animal origin, such as insects at all stages of their development and their fragments, rodent hairs and their fragments, and mites. Since this standard is quite specific and narrow-profile, we recommend that you clarify the possibility of its application specifically for your business.

Citrus fruits -- Guidelines for storage

ISO 3631:2019

The sphere of agro-industry is more associated with food in people. Since most of the time and mostly it is about health and safety after consumption of products, a lot of attention is paid to regulation. To standardize the storage of citrus fruits, the ISO 3631: 2019 standard was created. This document specifies the conditions required for good keeping of the following groups of citrus fruits during their storage with or without refrigeration, in stores or in various transport equipment (such as containers, railway cars, trucks or ships): — oranges: Citrus sinensis (Linnaeus) Osbeck; — mandarins: Citrus reticulata Blanco; — lemons: Citrus limon (Linnaeus) N. L. Burman; — grapefruits: Citrus paradisi Macfadyen; — limes: — Citrus aurantifolia (Christmann) Swingle; — Citrus latifolia Tanaka. Detailed information concerning cultivars in these different groups is given in Annexes A and B. If your organization is in contact with the activities specified in this standard, we recommend purchasing it to ensure the safety and quality of the activities performed.

Agricultural tractors -- Test procedures

ISO 789-1:2018

The use of machinery in agriculture has not only become a common concept, but has become a separate subcategory. Since each stage of any area lends itself to clear rationing, such a standard as ISO 789-1: 2018 was created for tractors and test methods. This document specifies test procedures for determining the power available at the power take-off (PTO) on agricultural tractors of the wheeled, track-laying or semi-track-laying type. If you have any detailed questions about how to use this document in the most productive way, we recommend that you clarify everything with a team of professionals in the field of international standards selection.

Agricultural tractors -- Front-mounted equipment

ISO 8759-1:2018

In each area, a fairly extensive amount of equipment is used, which is why it is important to distinguish between the norms for each individual branch of the system. One of the most important standards in the agro-industry is ISO 8759-1: 2018. This document specifies safety requirements for, and clearance zones around, front-mounted power take-offs (PTO) on agricultural tractors. NOTE 1 Further specifications for front-mounted power take-offs are given in ISO 8759-3. It is not applicable to tractors which are designed to run in two directions, where either end can be considered to be the front or the rear. NOTE 2 In this case, ISO 500 (all parts) apply. Since the features of this document require careful compliance with the system being implemented, we recommend that you clarify all the details in more detail before use.

Agricultural tractors -- Test procedures

ISO 789-9:2018

Test methods and procedures are one of the most fundamental parts of any operational activity, especially when it comes to launching new equipment. In agricultural activities, there are also standards that regulate the stages of test procedures. ISO 789-9:2018 specifies test procedures for determining the power available at the drawbar on agricultural tractors of the wheeled, track-laying or semi-track-laying type. If you are interested in purchasing this document, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with its detailed description in more detail by clicking on the link to the site.

New standards for a long-standing industry

As noted, standards can regulate both production aspects, stages of product cultivation, as well as technologies used at all stages. Compliance with the standards specified in these documents can not only significantly optimize the production processes in your field of activity, but also give impetus to development at the international level. If you are ready to take your organization to a new level of quality, then the iTeh team is happy to help you with this.
