The specifics of using various materials in production and their regulation by international standards

IMG_8926.JPG

Technical documentation in most cases displays key indicators according to which this or that activity should be carried out. In the process of production and use of various types of materials, it is necessary to adhere to the rules and regulations to comply with all safety techniques and maintain the quality of the final result. In general, it makes sense to create a clear base of international standards that will govern the entire process. After all, the interaction of companies and organizations generally takes place at the international level, and therefore regulation should take place within the same framework. Today we will talk about some of the basic standards in the field of production.

Technical product documentation — General principles of representation — Part 3: Views, sections and cuts (ISO 128–3:2020)

SIST EN ISO 128–3:2020

There are both narrow-profile norms and more global ones. SIST EN ISO 128–3: 2020 is precisely one of those standards that characterizes the structure of more global processes and, therefore, can be applied in a wide number of areas and industries.

This document specifies the general principles for presenting views, sections and cuts applicable to various kinds of technical drawings (e.g. mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil engineering), following the orthographic projection methods specified in ISO 5456–2. Views and sections for shipbuilding technical drawings are discussed in ISO 128–15. Views and sections for 3D models are discussed in ISO 16792.

Attention has also been given in this document to the requirements of reproduction, including microcopying in accordance with ISO 6428.

If your company uses the technologies mentioned above, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the standard in more detail on our website using the link attached above.

Technical product documentation — General principles of representation — Part 2: Basic conventions for lines (ISO 128–2:2020)

SIST EN ISO 128–3:2020

Each standard has its own additions, or separate parts, which sometimes supplement the existing information, and sometimes completely oppose and describe a different kind of technology in the same industry. SIST EN ISO 128–2:2020 specifies the general principles for presenting views, sections and cuts applicable to various kinds of technical drawings (e.g. mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil engineering), following the orthographic projection methods specified in ISO 5456–2. Views and sections for shipbuilding technical drawings are discussed in ISO 128–15. Views and sections for 3D models are discussed in ISO 16792. Attention has also been given in this document to the requirements of reproduction, including microcopying in accordance with ISO 6428. If your organization’s documentation activities comply with the aforementioned norms, you can clarify more details by contacting the iTeh team for assistance.

Durability of wood and wood-based products — Accelerated ageing of treated wood prior to biological testing — Evaporative ageing procedure

SIST EN 73:2020

Like any material, wood requires a technological base for production, processing and processing. Since export-import relations are actively established in the modern world, production processes are also regulated at the international level. One of the standards governing these processes is SIST EN 73: 2020.

This document specifies an evaporative ageing procedure, applicable to test specimens of wood which have been previously treated with a wood preservative, in order to evaluate any loss of effectiveness when these test specimens are subsequently subjected to biological tests.

If you are interested in purchasing this standard, we recommend that you first consult whether this particular document is right for you, or whether the specifics of your activity require a slightly different technological focus.

Durability of wood and wood-based products — Accelerated ageing of treated wood prior to biological testing — Leaching procedure

SIST EN 84:2020

The next standard applied in the field of industrial use of wood is SIST EN 84: 2020. Its feature is the description of a separate part of a more global process.

This document specifies a method for the leaching of test specimens of wood which are used in the testing of the biological efficacy of wood preservatives.

This standard is applicable to: a) the pre-conditioning of test specimens prior to their being subjected to a biological test ; or b) assessment of loss of effectiveness by comparing the performance in a biological test of treated test specimens subjected to this procedure with others that have not undergone any leaching procedure. The method may also be used for pre-conditioning of wood-based panel products which may or may not have received preservative treatment.

Since this document describes general concepts, but at the same time has amendments to the fact in which cases it cannot be applied, we recommend that you study its technical characteristics and features in more detail in order to avoid acquiring an incorrect document, and as a result of incorrect results in the process of establishing activities.

Metallic industrial piping — Part 3: Design and calculation

SIST EN 13480–3:2018/A2:2020

The metal production industry is distinguished by the complex availability of technical parameters without which it is impossible to establish not only a clear process, but also to obtain the desired result. At the design and costing stage, basic calculations are made, which further affect the structure of the entire process. One of the standards governing this stage is SIST EN 13480–3: 2018 / A2: 2020.

Specifies the design and calculation of industrial metallic piping systems, including supports, covered by EN 13480. Revision of Clause 12 and Annex H related to Stress Intensification Factors SIF. You can find more detailed specifications for this standard on our website by clicking on the link attached above.

LPG equipment and accessories — Static welded steel cylindrical tanks, serially produced for the storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) having a volume not greater than 13 m³ — Design and manufacture

SIST EN 12542:2020

Liquids and gases are used in every production process, even with innovative electronic implementations. To comply with international requirements, it is necessary to constantly keep abreast of the updating of international norms and standards. One of the key and newest in this area is SIST EN 12542: 2020.

This European Standard specifies requirements for the design and manufacture of static welded steel cylindrical tanks, serially produced for the storage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) with a volume not greater than 13 m³ and for installation above or below ground.

Since this document has many specific features, parameters and is applicable only to organizations using the above technologies, we recommend that you clarify in more detail information on specific areas of application of this standard with professionals in this industry.

Common manufacturing problems require standardized solutions

The international standardization system for various processes is not only a key aspect of the company’s successful development, but also a guide to international development. In order to observe the main parameter necessary for promotion — quality, it is necessary to be aware of the latest news on the market, and as a result, the standardization of innovations. Ignoring these aspects can, in the worst case, lead to negative consequences in the process of conquering new markets. Therefore, we will always be happy to help and contribute to the development of your company, as well as to protect it from making wrong decisions by selecting the right standards.
