Glass in building - Glazing recommendations - Assembly principles for vertical and sloping glazing
This European Standard defines principles of glazing as well as recommendations on the selection of components, e.g. frame sections, beads, drainage holes, etc., for fitting glazing into frames of any material.
This European Standard applies to all basic types of edge supported vertical and sloping glazing systems, in all types of fixed or opening frames used in buildings.
This European standard specifies also the functions, requirements and installation of glazing blocks within a frame during its manufacturing, transportation, installation and operational life. The standard applies to glazing blocks used for all types of flat or curved glass, as well as to derived processed types of glass.
For certain glass products, e.g. fire resistant glazing, security glass, other or additional requirements, rules or recommendations may apply.
The standard is applicable to European climate conditions.
This European Standard does not apply to the following:
- glass blocks and paver units (EN 1051 1);
- channel-shaped glass (EN 572 7);
- structural sealant glazing (see EN 13022 1 and EN 13022 2 and ETAG 002);
- adhesively bonded glazing in window;
- point fixed glazing;
- greenhouses (see EN 13031 1).
As this standard gives basic assembly principles only, national requirements, rules or recommendations may also apply.

Diese Europäische Norm definiert die Grundlagen der Verglasung sowie Empfehlungen bezüglich der Auswahl von Komponenten (z. B. Rahmenprofile, Glashalteleisten, Entwässerungsöffnungen usw.), um Verglasungen in Rahmen aus beliebigem Material zu montieren.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für alle Grundtypen von vertikal linienförmig gelagerten Verglasungssystemen und Schrägverglasungen aller Typen von feststehenden oder zu öffnenden Rahmen.
Diese Europäische Norm spezifiziert ebenfalls die Funktionen, die Anforderungen und den Einbau von Verglasungsklötzen in einen Rahmen während dessen Herstellung, Transport, Einbau und Betriebslebenszeit. Die Norm gilt sowohl für Verglasungsklötze, die für alle Typen von flachem oder gebogenem Glas verwendet werden, als auch für davon abgeleitete Glastypen.
Bei bestimmten Glasprodukten (z. B. Brandschutzverglasung, Sicherheitsglas) können andere oder zusätzliche Anforderungen, Vorschriften oder Empfehlungen gelten.
Diese Norm gilt für europäische Klimabedingungen.
Diese Europäische Norm ist nicht anwendbar auf:
- Glasbausteine und Glaspflaster (EN 1051 1);
- Profilbauglas (EN 572 7);
- geklebte lastabtragende Glaskonstruktionen (siehe EN 13022-1 und EN 13022-2, und ETAG 002);
- geklebte Verglasungen;
- punktgehaltene Verglasungen;
- Gewächshäuser (siehe EN 13031 1).
Da diese Norm lediglich grundlegende Montageprinzipien festlegt, dürfen auch nationale Anforderungen, Vorschriften oder Empfehlungen Anwendung finden.

La présente Norme européenne donne les principes de pose d'un vitrage ainsi que des recommandations concernant le choix des composants, par exemple profilés, parcloses, orifices de drainage, etc., utilisés pour le montage d'un vitrage dans des châssis en tout type de matériau.
La présente Norme Européenne s'applique à tous les types de systèmes de vitrage verticaux et inclinés maintenus par les côtés dans tous les types de châssis fixes ou ouvrants utilisés dans les bâtiments.
La présente Norme Européenne spécifie également les fonctions, les exigences et l'installation des cales de vitrage dans un châssis pendant sa fabrication, son transport, sa pose et sa durée de vie. La norme s'applique aux cales de vitrage utilisées pour tous les types de vitrages plans ou bombés, ainsi qu'aux types de vitrage traités dérivés.
L'observation de ces recommandations assurera une durée de service raisonnable du vitrage.
Pour certains produits verriers, par exemple un vitrage résistant au feu, un vitrage de sécurité, des exigences, règles ou recommandations supplémentaires ou différentes peuvent s'appliquer.
Les informations concernant la durabilité d'un produit verrier sont données dans la Norme européenne harmonisée applicable (hEN). Selon le produit verrier spécifique, ces informations seront fournies au paragraphe 4.3 ou 4.4 de la hEN. Dans ce paragraphe, il est également fait état des instructions de pose du fabricant et des normes applicables.
La norme s'applique aux conditions climatiques en Europe.
La présente Norme européenne ne s'applique pas aux éléments suivants :
- briques de verre et dalles de verre (EN 1051-1) ;
- verre profilé (EN 572-7) ;
- vitrage extérieur collé (voir EN 13022 parties 1 et 2 et ETAG 002) ;
- vitrage collé à l'adhésif dans une fenêtre ;
- vitrage maintenu à l'aide de pointes ;
- serres (voir l'EN 13031-1).

Ta evropski standard podaja načela zastekljevanja in priporočila glede izbire sestavnih delov, npr. okvirnih elementov, kroglic, odvodnih odprtin itd., za nameščanje stekla v okvirje iz poljubnega materiala. Ta evropski standard se uporablja za vse osnovne vrste sistemov za navpično in poševno zasteklitev z robno podporo v vseh vrstah fiksnih ali odpiralnih okvirjev v zgradbah. Ta evropski standard prav tako določa funkcije, zahteve in namestitev zasteklitvenih blokov znotraj okvirja med njegovim vzdrževanjem, transportom, namestitvijo in življenjsko dobo. Standard se uporablja za zasteklitvene bloke, ki se uporabljajo za vse vrste ravnega ali ukrivljenega stekla, kot tudi predelane vrste stekla. Upoštevanje teh priporočil zagotavlja razumno življenjsko dobo zasteklitve. Za določene steklene proizvode, npr. ognjevzdržno zasteklitev, varnostno steklo, lahko veljajo druge ali dodatne zahteve, pravila in priporočila. Informacije glede vzdržljivosti posameznega steklenega proizvoda so podane v ustreznem usklajenem evropskem standardu (hEN). Glede na določen stekleni proizvod je sklic podan v standardu hEN v točki 4.3. ali 4.4. V točki so omenjeni tudi proizvajalčeva navodila za namestitev in veljavni standardi. Standard se uporablja za klimatske pogoje v Evropi. Ta evropski standard se ne uporablja za naslednje: – steklene bloke in tlakovne enote (EN 1051-1); – steklo v obliki kanala (EN 572-7); – strukturno tesnjeno zasteklitev (glej 1. in 2. del standarda EN 13022 ter standard ETAG 002); – okensko zasteklitev s pomočjo lepilnih sredstev; – točkovno vpeto zasteklitev; – rastlinjake (glej EN 13031-1).
