ISO 3994:2014 specifies the requirements for three types of helical-thermoplastic-reinforced thermoplastics hoses for suction and discharge of water, weak aqueous chemical solutions and abrasive solids and slurries, for use in the ambient temperature range from −10 °C to 55 °C.
The three types of hose are for light-, medium- and heavy-duty applications.

Kunststoffschläuche - Mit einer thermoplastischen Wendel verstärkte thermoplastische Schläuche zum Ansaugen und Fördern wässriger Stoffe - Anforderung (ISO 3994:2014)

Diese Internationale Norm legt Anforderungen fest für drei Arten von thermoplastischen Schläuchen verstärkt
mit einer thermoplastischen Wendel zum Ansaugen und Fördern von Wasser, verdünnten wässrigen
Chemikalienlösungen und abrasiven Feststoffen und Schlämmen für den Gebrauch in einem
Umgebungstemperaturbereich von 10 °C bis 55 °C.
Diese drei Arten von Schläuchen sind anwendbar für leichte, mittlere und schwere Beanspruchungen
Die in dieser Internationalen Norm enthaltenen Schlaucharten sind nicht bestimmt für die Verwendung mit
entflammbaren und brennbaren Materialien, auch nicht mit aromatischen Lösungsmitteln.
ANMERKUNG Schläuche mit ähnlichem Aufbau zum Ansaugen und Fördern für die Feuerbekämpfung sind in
ISO 14557 Fire-fighting hoses — Rubber and plastics suction hoses and hose assemblies beschrieben.

Tuyaux en plastiques - Tuyaux thermoplastiques à renforcement thermoplastique en spirale pour aspiration et refoulement de matières aqueuses - Spécifications (ISO 3994:2014)

L'ISO 3994:2014 spécifie les exigences pour trois types de tuyaux thermoplastiques à renforcement thermoplastique en spirale pour aspiration et refoulement pour une utilisation dans la plage de température de − 10 °C à + 55 °C.
Les trois types de tuyaux sont prévus pour des applications légères, moyennes et lourdes.

Standard EN ISO 3994 določa zahteve za tri vrste s plastomerno spiralo ojačenih plastomernih cevi za črpanje in odvajanje vode, šibkih vodnih kemičnih raztopin ter abrazivnih trdnih snovi in blata, za uporabo pri temperaturi okolja od −10 °C do 55 °C. Trije tipi cevi so namenjeni za lahke, srednje in težke obremenitve. Tipi cevi, ki jih obravnava ta mednarodni standard, niso namenjeni uporabi z vnetljivimi ali gorljivimi materiali ali z aromatskimi topili.

This document (EN ISO 3994:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 “Rubber and
rubber products” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 “Rubber and plastics hoses and
hose assemblies” the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by February 2015.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent

Hoses can be constructed from rubber or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and this document specifies the requirements for three types of hoses in two grades and two classes of hose assemblies for measured fuel dispensing systems, including oxygenated fuels (≤15 % oxygenated compounds) with internal vapour recovery tubing or hose made out of rubber or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
The assemblies are intended for use at ambient temperatures between -30 °C and +55 °C for normal temperature class and -40 °C and +55 °C for low temperature class at a working pressure ≤ 16 bar.
This document is not applicable to multi chamber fuel dispensing hoses.
NOTE As part of the certification of a new dispenser, testing of fuel samples in accordance with EN 228 is carried out at least eight weeks after the first use of the equipment to avoid unrepresentative sulphur content results.
1 bar = 0,1 MPa.

This document specifies two methods for measuring the stiffness and one method for the determination of the flexibility of rubber and plastics hoses and tubing when they are bent to a specific radius at sub-ambient temperatures.
Method A is suitable for non-collapsible rubber and plastics hoses and tubing with a bore of up to and including 25 mm. This method provides a means of measuring the stiffness of the hose or tubing when the temperature is reduced from a standard laboratory temperature.
Method B is suitable for rubber and plastics hoses and tubing with a bore of up to 100 mm and provides a means of assessing the flexibility of the hose or tubing when bent around a mandrel at a specified sub-ambient temperature. It can also be used as a routine quality control test.
Method C is suitable for rubber and plastics hoses and tubing with a bore of 100 mm and greater. This method provides a means of measuring the stiffness of the hose and tubing at sub-ambient temperatures. This method is only suitable for hoses and tubing which are non-collapsible.
