This European Standard specifies minimum requirements for firefighters' helmets protecting the upper head mainly against the effects of impact, penetration and heat and flame, whilst firefighting in buildings and other structures.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences minimales relatives aux casques de sapeurs-pompiers protégeant principalement la partie supérieure de la tête contre les effets d'un choc, d'une pénétration et de la chaleur et des flammes, dans le cadre de la lutte contre les incendies dans les bâtiments et autres structures.

NACIONALNI UVOD
Standard SIST EN 443 (sl), Gasilske čelade za gašenje v stavbah in drugih zgradbah, 2008, ima status
slovenskega standarda in je istoveten evropskemu standardu EN 443 (en, de, fr), Helmets for fire
fighting in buildings and other structures, 2008.
Ta standard nadomešča SIST EN 443:1998.
NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Evropski standard EN 443:2008 je pripravil tehnični odbor Evropskega komiteja za standardizacijo
CEN/TC 158 Varovanje glave. Slovenski standard SIST EN 443:2008 je prevod evropskega standarda
EN 443:2008. V primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega prevoda v tem standardu je odločilen izvirni
evropski standard v enem izmed treh uradnih jezikov CEN. Slovensko izdajo standarda je pripravil
tehnični odbor SIST/TC OVP Osebna varovalna oprema.
Odločitev za privzem tega standarda je dne 27. marca 2008 sprejel SIST/TC OVP Osebna varovalna
oprema.
