Water play equipment and features - Safety requirements, test methods and operational requirements
This document specifies safety requirements, test methods and operational requirements for water play equipment, features and structures:
- intended for playing, and
- in areas intended for water activities for public use (non-domestic), typically in swimming pool facilities, and
- where water is an integral part in the use of the play equipment/feature/structures.
This document also applies for spray parks.
This document does not apply to:
a) floating leisure articles according to EN ISO 25649 series;
b) artificial climbing walls according to EN 12572 series;
c) toys according to EN 71 series;
d) water slides according to EN 1069 series;
e) climbing/bouldering walls used in the swimming pool surround according to EN 17164;
f) water equipment/features (e.g. ornamental fountains) not intended for playing;
g) water play equipment/features installed in swimming pools for domestic use.
h) playground equipment according to EN 1176 series.

Dieses Dokument legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen, Prüfverfahren und Anforderungen an den Betrieb für installierte Wasserspielgeräte, elemente und konstruktionen fest, die
- zum Spielen vorgesehen sind, und
- sich in Bereichen befinden, die für Wasseraktivitäten zur öffentlichen (nicht privaten) Nutzung — wie üblicherweise in Schwimmbadanlagen — bestimmt sind, und
- bei denen Wasser ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Nutzung der Spielgeräte/ elemente/ konstruktionen ist.
Dieses Dokument gilt auch für Sprühparks.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für:
a) schwimmende Freizeitartikel nach der Normenreihe EN ISO 25649;
b) künstliche Kletterwände nach der Normenreihe EN 12572;
c) Spielzeug nach der Normenreihe EN 71;
d) Wasserrutschen nach der Normenreihe EN 1069;
e) im Wasserbereich von Schwimmbadanlagen genutzte Kletter /Boulderwände nach EN 17164;
f) Wasseranlagen/ elemente (z. B. Zierwasserspeier), die nicht zum Spielen bestimmt sind;
g) Wasserspielgeräte/ elemente, die in privat genutzten Schwimmbädern montiert sind.
h) Spielplatzgeräte nach der Normenreihe EN 1176.
Équipements et éléments de jeux aquatiques - Exigences de sécurité, méthodes d’essai et exigences de fonctionnement
Le présent document spécifie les exigences de sécurité, les méthodes d’essai et les exigences de fonctionnement des équipements, éléments et structures de jeux aquatiques installés :
- prévus pour le jeu, et
- dans des zones prévues pour les activités aquatiques à usage public (non domestique), généralement dans des piscines, et
- où l’eau fait partie intégrante de l’utilisation des équipements/éléments/structures de jeux.
Le présent document s’applique également aux aires de jeux aquatiques.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas :
a) aux articles de loisirs flottants conformes à la série EN ISO 25649 ;
b) aux structures artificielles d’escalade conformes à la série EN 12572 ;
c) aux jouets conformes à la série EN 71 ;
d) aux toboggans aquatiques conformes à la série EN 1069 ;
e) aux murs/blocs d’escalade destinés aux bassins des piscines conformes à l’EN 17164 ;
f) aux équipements/éléments aquatiques (par exemple fontaines ornementales) non prévus pour le jeu ;
g) aux équipements/éléments de jeux aquatiques installés dans des piscines pour un usage domestique ;
h) aux équipements d’aires de jeux conformes à la série EN 1176.
