Vapour products - Routine analytical vaping machine - Definitions and standard conditions (ISO 20768:2018)

This document:
—          defines the parameters and specifies the standard conditions for a vaping machine for vapour products (as defined in 3.1);
—          specifies technical requirements for the machine for routine analytical vaping, conforming with the standard conditions stated within Clause 4;
—          does not specify the vapour product, the vapour product operation or the liquid to be used;
—          does not specify the means for aerosol trapping, subsequent sample preparation or analyses of components in the trapped aerosol.

Dampfprodukte - Maschine für die Routineanalyse von Dampfprodukten - Begriffe und Standardbedingungen (ISO 20768:2018)

Dieses Dokument:
—   definiert die Parameter und legt die Standardbedingungen für eine Maschine zum Dampfen von Dampfprodukten (en: vaping machine) (wie in 3.1 definiert) fest;
—   legt technische Anforderungen an die Maschine für die Routineanalyse von Dampfprodukten fest, die den in Abschnitt 4 angegebenen Standardbedingungen entsprechen;
—   legt nicht das Dampfprodukt, den Betrieb des Dampfprodukts oder das zu verwendende Liquid fest;
—   legt keine Mittel zum Sammeln des Aerosols, keine anschließende Probenvorbereitung oder Analysen von Bestandteilen im gesammelten Aerosol fest.

—          définit les paramètres et spécifie les conditions normalisées relatives à l'utilisation d'une machine à vapoter avec des produits de vapotage (tels que définis en 3.1);
—          spécifie des exigences techniques relatives à la machine à vapoter pour analyses de contrôle, conformes aux conditions normalisées énoncées à l'Article 4;
—          ne spécifie pas le produit de vapotage, le fonctionnement de ce dernier, ni le liquide à utiliser;
—          ne spécifie pas les moyens de piégeage de l'aérosol, la préparation ultérieure de l'échantillon, ni les analyses des substances de l'aérosol piégé.

– določa parametre in standardne pogoje uparjalnikov hlapnih izdelkov (kot je opredeljeno v točki 3.1);
– določa tehnične zahteve naprav za rutinsko analitično uparjanje, ki je v skladu s standardnimi pogoji, navedenimi v točki 4;
– ne določa hlapnega izdelka, njegovega delovanja ali uporabljene tekočine;
– ne določa sredstev za lovljenje aerosola, poznejšo pripravo vzorcev ali analizo komponent v ujetem aerosolu.

The text of ISO 20768:2018 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 126 "Tobacco and
tobacco products” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over
as EN ISO 20768:2021 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 437 “Electronic cigarettes and e-liquids” the
secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2022, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
Any feedback and questions on this document should be directed to the users’ national standards body.
