This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the coverage, sizing, adaptability and adjustability, restraint, ergonomics, construction, innocuousness, and performance under impact to be provided by protective jackets, body and shoulder protectors to be worn by children, youths and adults of either sex while riding horses, working with horses, driving horses or being a passenger in a horse driven vehicle.
These protectors are intended to provide some protection against impacts due to falls from horses and vehicles, and impacts while on the ground due to a fall, or while working with a horse. Impacts may be against the ground or objects such as trees or vehicles, or impacts may be due to kicks or being trodden on.
The protectors covered by this Standard are not intended to provide complete protection against injuries in accidents involving severe torsion, flexion or extension. Requirements for marking and the provision of information are given.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an und Prüfverfahren für Abdeckung, Größenangabe, Anpassungs¬fähigkeit und Verstellbarkeit, Befestigung, Ergonomie, Aufbau, Unschädlichkeit und Leistung bei Stößen von Schutzjacken sowie Körper und Schulterschützern fest, die von Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen beiderlei Geschlechts beim Reiten von Pferden, Arbeiten mit Pferden, Gespannfahren oder Mitfahren in von Pferden gezogenen Fahrzeugen getragen werden.
Diese Schützer sind dazu vorgesehen, ein gewisses Maß an Schutz gegen Stöße während eines Sturzes vom Pferd und Fahrzeug zu bieten und gegen Stöße, die erfolgen, während sich die Person nach einem Sturz auf dem Boden befindet oder während die Person mit Pferden arbeitet. Stöße können gegen den Boden oder gegen Gegenstände, z. B. Bäume oder Fahrzeuge, erfolgen oder sie können auftreten, indem die Person getreten wird oder unter die Hufe gerät.
Die in dieser Norm behandelten Schutzausrüstungen sind nicht dafür vorgesehen, einen vollständigen Schutz gegen Verletzungen bei Unfällen mit schweren Verdrehungen, Verbiegungen oder Überdehnungen zu bieten. Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung und an die mitzuliefernden Informationen sind angegeben.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d’essai relatives à la zone de protection, aux tailles, à l’adaptabilité et à la capacité de réglage, aux dispositifs de retenue, à l’ergonomie, à la construction, à l’innocuité et aux performances en cas de choc devant être fournis par les vestes, les gilets de protection et les protège-épaules portés par les enfants, les adolescents et les adultes des deux sexes lorsqu’ils montent à cheval, travaillent avec des chevaux, mènent un attelage ou sont passagers d’un véhicule tiré par des chevaux.
Ces vêtements de protection sont destinés à fournir une certaine protection contre les chocs dus aux chutes de cheval et de véhicule et contre les chocs survenant au sol après une chute ou lors d’un travail avec le cheval. Les chocs peuvent se produire avec le sol ou avec des objets tels que des arbres ou des véhicules, ou les chocs peuvent être dus à des coups de sabot ou à un piétinement par le cheval.
Les vêtements de protection couverts par la présente norme ne sont pas destinés à fournir une protection complète contre les blessures en cas d’accidents impliquant une torsion, une flexion ou une extension importante du corps. Ta standard določa zahteve in preskusne metode za pokritost, velikost, prilagodljivost in nastavljivost, zadrževanje, ergonomijo, strukturo, neškodljivost ter zmogljivost v primeru mehanskega vpliva, ki jih zagotavljajo varovalni jopiči ter ščitniki telesa in ramen, ki jih nosijo otroci, mladostniki in odrasli obeh spolov pri jahanju konjev ali delu s konji oziroma so namenjeni voznikom vozil s konjsko vprego in osebam, ki se prevažajo v vozilu s konjsko vprego. Taki ščitniki so namenjeni za zagotavljanje določene zaščite pred udarci zaradi padcev s konjev in vozil ter udarci na tleh po padcu ali med delom s konjem. Pride lahko do udarcev ob tla ali predmete, kot so drevesa ali vozila, ali udarcev, ki nastanejo, kadar konj brcne, potepta ali pade na osebo. Ščitniki, obravnavani v tem standardu, niso namenjeni za zagotavljanje popolne zaščite pred poškodbami v primeru nesreč, povezanih s hudimi zvini, upogibi, raztegi ali zlomi telesa.
