Resilient floor coverings - Specification for plain and decorative linoleum

This European standard specifies the characteristics of plain and decorative linoleum, either supplied as tiles or rolls. To encourage the consumer to make an informed choice, the standard includes a classification system based on intensity of use, which shows where resilient floor coverings should give satisfactory servie (see EN 685). It also includes requirements for marking. The term 'linoleum' is frequently incorrectly applied to a range of floor coverings, often to those based on polyvinyl chloride or rubber. Such materials are not included in this standard.

Diese Europäische Nomr legt die Eigenschaften von ungemustertem und gemustertem Linoleum fest, das sowohl in Form von Platten als auch als Rollen geliefert wird. Um den Verbraucher bei seiner Auswahl zu unterstützen, enthält diese Norm ein Klassifizierungssystem auf Basis der Nutzungsintensität, das zeigt, wo für diese elastischen Bodenbeläge ein zufriedenstellender Nutzen möglich wäre (siehe EN 685). Die Norm legt auch die Anforderungen zur Kennzeichnung fest.

Revêtements de sol résilients - Spécifications pour le linoléum uni et décoratif

La présente norme eruopéenne prescrit les caractéristiques du linoléum uni et décoratif sous forme de rouleaux ou de dalles. Pour aider le consommateur à faire son choix, la présente norme européenne inclut un système de classification basé sur l'intensité d'utilisation, qui indique l'endroit où le revêtement de sol résilient rendrait un service satisfaisant (voir l'EN 685). Elle inclut aussi les exigences pour le marquage. Le terme 'linoléum' est fréquemment incorrectement appliqué à une gamme de revêtements de sol, souvent à base de polychlorure de vinyle ou de caoutchouc, non inclus dans cette norme.
