Paper and board - Measurement of specular gloss - Part 2: 75 degree gloss with a parallel beam, DIN method (ISO 8254-2:2016)

ISO 8254-2:2016 specifies a photometric test method for the assessment of visual gloss by means of a reflectometer value measured at an angle of 75°. It is applicable to plane paper and board surfaces of gloss levels below 65, measured according to ISO 8254-2:2016. It should be the preferred method for paper and board surfaces of gloss levels below 20, measured according to ISO 8254-2:2016. Materials containing optical brightening agents may be measured.

Dieser Teil der ISO 8254 legt ein photometrisches Prüfverfahren zur Bewertung des Glanzes mithilfe eines Reflektometerwertes fest, der bei einem Winkel von 75° gemessen wird. Er gilt für ebene Papier  und Pappenoberflächen mit einem nach diesem Teil der ISO 8254 ermittelten Glanzwert von unter 65. Sie sollte für Papier  und Pappenoberflächen mit nach diesem Teil der ISO 8254 ermittelten Glanzwerten von unter 20 das bevorzugte Verfahren darstellen. Materialien, die optisch aufhellende Bestandteile enthalten, dürfen gemessen werden.

L'ISO 8254-2 :2016 spécifie une méthode d'essai photométrique pour l'évaluation du brillant visuel à l'aide d'une valeur réflectométrique mesurée suivant un angle de 75°. Elle est applicable aux papiers et cartons dont la surface est plane et présente un niveau de brillant, mesuré selon l'ISO 8254-2 :2016, inférieur à 65. Il convient de préférer cette méthode pour les papiers et cartons dont la surface présente un niveau de brillant, mesuré selon l'ISO 8254-2 :2016, inférieur à 20. Les matériaux contenant des agents d'azurage optique peuvent être mesurés.

Ta del standarda ISO 8254 določa fotometrične preskusne metode za oceno vizualnega sijaja s pomočjo reflektometrske vrednosti, izmerjene pod kotom 75°. Uporablja se za površine navadnega papirja in kartona z ravnmi sijaja pod 65, izmerjenimi v skladu s tem delom standarda ISO 8254. To je priporočljiva metoda za navadni papir in karton z ravnmi sijaja pod 20, izmerjenimi v skladu s tem delom standarda ISO 8254. Lahko se merijo materiali, ki vsebujejo optična belilna sredstva.

This document (EN ISO 8254-2:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 6 “Paper,
board and pulps” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 172 “Pulp, paper and board” the
secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2017, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by January 2017.
