Steel strip sheaths for prestressing tendons - Terminology, requirements, quality control
This Standard is applicable to uncoated cylindrical steel sheaths with a corrugated profile and with a nominal internal diameter of up to 130 mm and their connectors (couplers) which are assembled to form ducts for prestressing tendons in post-tensioned prestressed concrete elements. It applies only to sheaths and connectors made of interlocked or welded strip. The seals required between sheaths and couplers are not covered by this standard.
Hüllrohre aus Bandstahl für Spannglieder - Begriffe, Anforderungen und Konformität
Diese Norm gilt für unbeschichtete kreisförmige Hüllrohre aus Stahl mit wendelförmiger Profilierung bis zu einer Nennweite von 130 mm sowie deren Verbindungsteile (Muffen), die als Spannkanal für Spannglieder in Spann-betontragwerken mit nachträglichem Verbund verwendet werden. Sie gilt nur für Hüllrohre und deren Verbindungs-teile, die durch Falzen oder Schweißen aus Bandstahl hergestellt werden ). Hüllrohre aus Kunststoff werden nicht behandelt ).
Die erforderlichen Abdichtungen von Verbindungsteilen sind nicht Gegenstand dieser Norm.
Gaines en feuillard d'acier pour câbles de précontrainte - Terminologie, prescriptions, contrôle de qualité
La présente Norme européenne est applicable aux gaines en acier cylindriques, non revêtues, nervurées, d'un diamètre nominal intérieur de 130 mm maximum et à leurs raccords (manchons de raccordement) qui sont assemblés pour former des conduits destinés aux câbles de précontrainte dans des structures en béton précontraint par post-tension. Elle est uniquement applicable aux gaines et aux raccords en feuillard d'acier agrafés ou soudés ). Elle ne couvre pas les gaines plastiques 2).
L'étanchéité exigée entre les gaines et les raccords n'est pas couverte par la présente norme.

This document EN 523:2003 has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 104 “Concrete and related
products”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or
by endorsement, at the latest by February 2004, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest
by February 2004.
This document supersedes EN 523:1997.
