Unfired pressure vessels - Part 501: Acoustic emission for pressure vessels

This document is intended for the application of AT on metallic pressure equipment during controlled loading.
Therefore the overall aims of this document are:
-   to detect, locate and grade areas with evolving imperfections;
-   to provide the manufacturer the possibility to compare results of the first test with those of subsequent periodic inspections;
-   to determine the possibilities and limits of AE testing (AT) for pressure equipment;
-   to establish common basis for procedures to perform AT, taking into account the specific characteristics of the equipment under test;
-   to define the criteria, features and grades essential for evaluation of test results;
-   to suggest follow-ups to the test.

Dieses Dokument ist für die Anwendung von Schallemissionsprüfungen an metallischen Druckgeräten während der kontrollierten Belastung vorgesehen.
Daher sind die allgemeinen Ziele dieses Dokuments:
   Erkennen, Lokalisieren und Einstufen von Bereichen mit sich entwickelnden Unregelmäßigkeiten;
   dem Hersteller die Möglichkeit zu geben, die Ergebnisse der ersten Prüfung mit denen der nach-folgenden regelmäßigen Prüfungen zu vergleichen;
   Bestimmung der Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der AE Prüfung (Schallemissionsprüfung, en: acoustic emission testing, AE testing oder AT) für Druckgeräte;
   Schaffung einer gemeinsamen Grundlage für die Verfahren zur Durchführung von Schall-emissionsprüfungen (AT) unter Berücksichtigung der besonderen Eigenschaften der zu prüfenden Geräte;
   Definition der Kriterien, Merkmale und Klassen, die für die Auswertung der Testergebnisse wesentlich sind;
   Vorschlagen von Folgemaßnahmen zur Prüfung.

Le présent document est destiné à l'application de l'AT au niveau des équipements métalliques sous pression pendant le chargement contrôlé.
Par conséquent, les objectifs généraux du présent document sont les suivants :
-   détecter, localiser et classer les zones comportant des imperfections évolutives ;
-   offrir au fabricant la possibilité de comparer les résultats du premier essai avec ceux des inspections périodiques ultérieures ;
-   déterminer les possibilités et les limites de l'essai EA (AT) pour les équipements sous pression ;
-   établir une base commune pour les modes opératoires de réalisation d’AT, en tenant compte des caractéristiques spécifiques de l'équipement soumis à essai ;
-   définir les critères, les éléments et les classes essentiels pour l'évaluation des résultats d'essai ;
-   suggérer des mesures à prendre suite à l'essai.

Ta dokument je namenjen za preskušanje ustreznosti (AT) kovinske tlačne opreme med nadzorovanim
nalaganjem.
Zato so splošni cilji tega dokumenta:
– odkrivanje, iskanje in ocenjevanje območij z razvijajočimi se pomanjkljivostmi;
– proizvajalcu omogočiti primerjavo rezultatov prvega preskusa z rezultati naknadnih rednih pregledov;
– določanje možnosti in omejitev preskušanja AE (AT) za tlačno opremo;
– vzpostavljanje skupne podlage za postopke preskušanja ustreznosti ob upoštevanju posebnih karakteristik preskušane opreme;
– opredelitev kriterijev, značilnosti in ocen, ki so bistveni za vrednotenje rezultatov preskusov;
– predlagati nadaljnje ukrepe po preskušanju.

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 3 September 2018 for provisional application.

The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.

CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS
available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in
parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
