ISO 3759:2011 specifies a method for the preparation, marking and measuring of textile fabrics, garments and fabric assemblies for use in tests for assessing dimensional change after a specified treatment, e.g. washing, dry cleaning, soaking in water and steaming, following the procedures in ISO 3005, ISO 7771, ISO 6330, ISO 3175 or ISO 15797. ISO 3759:2011 is applicable to woven and knitted fabrics and made-up textile articles. The procedures are not applicable to certain upholstery coverings.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren fest zur Vorbereitung, Markierung und Messung von textilen
Flächengebilden, Kleidungsstücken und Kombinationen von Flächengebilden zur Verwendung bei Prüfungen
zur Bewertung der Maßänderung nach einer festgelegten Behandlung, z. B. Waschen, Chemisch-Reinigen,
Durchnässen und Dämpfen, unter Anwendung der Verfahren in ISO 3005, ISO 7771, ISO 6330, ISO 3175
oder ISO 15797. Diese Norm ist anwendbar auf gewebte und gestrickte Flächengebilde und abgepasste
textile Fertigerzeugnisse. Die Verfahren sind nicht anwendbar auf bestimmte Polsterbezüge.

ISO 3759:2011 določa metodo za pripravo, označevanje in merjenje tekstilnih tkanin, oblačil in sestavov tkanin za uporabo v preskusih za ocenjevanje dimenzijskih sprememb po določeni obdelavi, npr. pranju, kemičnem čiščenju, namakanju v vodi in obdelavi s paro, v skladu s postopki v ISO 3005, ISO 7771, ISO 6330, ISO 3175 ali ISO 15797. ISO 3759:2011 velja za tkane in pletene tkanine in končne tekstilne izdelke. Postopki ne veljajo za nekatere prevleke za oblazinjenje.

This document (EN ISO 3759:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 38 "Textiles" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 “Textiles and textile products” the secretariat of which is
held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by November 2011.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.

ISO 3759 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 38, Textiles, Subcommittee SC 2, Cleansing,
finishing and water resistance tests.
This fifth edition cancels and replaces the fourth edition (ISO 3759:2007), of which it constitutes a minor
revision. ISO 15797 has been added to Clause 1 (Scope), to Clause 2 (Normative references) and to Clause 9
(Treatment of specimens); and in 6.1, the second and the third paragraphs were inverted.
