This European Standard specifies a test method for the determination of resistance to manual burglary attempts in order to assess the burglar resistant characteristics of pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters. It is applicable to the following means of opening: Turning, tilting, folding, turn-tilting, top or bottom hung, sliding (horizontally and vertically) and rolling as well as fixed constructions.
This European Standard does not directly cover the resistance of locks and cylinders to attack with picking tools. It also does not cover the attack of electric, electronic and electromagnetic operated burglar resistant construction products using attack methods that might defeat these characteristics.
It is acknowledged that there are two aspects to the burglar resistance performance of construction products, their normal resistance to forced operation and their ability to remain fixed to the building. Due to the limitation of reproducing the fixing methods and building construction in a laboratory environment this aspect is not fully covered by the standard. This is particularly true with products built into a building. The performance of the fixed part of the product is evaluated using a standard sub frame. It is the manufacturer´s responsibility to ensure that guidance on the fixing of the product is contained in the mounting instructions and that this guidance is suitable for the burglar resistance class claimed for the product. As with the other referenced standards this specification uses a standard sub frame and the product is mounted according to the manufacturers' instructions. Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Ermittlung der Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen manuelle
Einbruchversuche fest, um die einbruchhemmenden Eigenschaften von Türelementen, Fenstern, Vorhangfassaden,
Gitterelementen und Abschlüssen zu bewerten. Sie gilt für die folgenden Öffnungsarten: Drehen,
Kippen, Falten, Drehkippen, Schwingen, Schieben (horizontal und vertikal) und Rollen sowie für nicht öffenbare
Konstruktionen.
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt nicht direkt die Widerstandsfähigkeit von Schlössern und Schließzylindern
gegen Angriffe mit Sperrwerkzeugen (Picking). Ebenfalls nicht behandelt wird der Angriff auf elektrisch,
elektronisch und elektromagnetisch betätigte einbruchhemmende Bauprodukte mit Hilfe von Angriffsmethoden,
die diese Eigenschaften ausschalten könnten.
Es gibt bekanntermaßen zwei Aspekte der einbruchhemmenden Leistungsfähigkeit von Bauprodukten, ihr
üblicher Widerstand gegen gewaltsame Öffnung und ihre Fähigkeit, im Gebäude fest verankert zu bleiben.
Auf Grund der Einschränkungen, die Befestigungsverfahren und die Bauweise des Gebäudes in einer Laborumgebung
nachbilden zu können, ist dieser Aspekt in der vorliegenden Norm nicht vollständig abgedeckt. Das
gilt vor allem für Produkte, die in ein Gebäude eingebaut sind. Die Leistungsfähigkeit des befestigten Teils des
Produktes wird mit Hilfe eines genormten Hilfsrahmens bewertet. Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Herstellers,
dafür zu sorgen, dass eine Anleitung zur Befestigung des Produktes in den Montageanweisungen
enthalten ist und dass diese Anleitung für die durch das Produkt beanspruchte Klasse der Einbruchhemmung
geeignet ist. Wie in den weiteren in Bezug genommenen Normen wird in der vorliegenden Spezifikation ein
genormter Hilfsrahmen verwendet, in den das Produkt in Übereinstimmung mit den Herstellerangaben eingebaut
wird. Ein Beispiel für den Inhalt der Montageanweisungen des Herstellers ist in EN 1627:2011, Anhang A,
beschrieben. Das vorliegende Prüfverfahren bewertet nicht die Ausführung der Befestigung am Gebäude.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Türen, Tore und Schranken, die für den Einbau in Zugangsbereichen
von Personen vorgesehen sind und deren hauptsächlich vorgesehene Verwendung darin besteht, eine
sichere Zufahrt für Waren und Fahrzeuge, begleitet oder geführt (gesteuert) von Personen, in industriellen,
gewerblichen oder Wohnbereichen zu ermöglichen, was in EN 13241-1 behandelt wird.

La présente Norme européenne définit une méthode d’essai visant à déterminer la résistance aux tentatives d’effraction manuelle dans le but d’évaluer les caractéristiques de résistance à l’effraction des portes piétonnes, bloc portes, fenêtres, façades, grilles et fermetures. Elle s’applique aux constructions fixes et aux systèmes d’ouverture suivants : battant, oscillant, pliant, oscillo-battant, à gonds haut ou bas, coulissant (horizontalement et verticalement) et à enroulement.
La présente Norme européenne ne traite pas directement de la résistance aux ouvertures fines des serrures et des cylindres. Elle ne couvre pas non plus l’attaque des produits de construction électriques, électroniques et électromagnétiques résistants à l’effraction, à l’aide de méthodes susceptibles de neutraliser ces caractéristiques.
Il est reconnu que les performances de résistance à l’effraction des produits de construction se caractérisent par deux aspects : la résistance normale à un forçage et la capacité à rester fixé au bâtiment. En raison des limites de reproductibilité des méthodes de fixation et de construction des bâtiments dans un laboratoire, cet aspect n’est pas complètement traité par la présente norme. Cela s’applique particulièrement aux produits intégrés à la structure d’un bâtiment. Les performances de la partie fixe du produit sont évaluées à l’aide d’un précadre normalisé. Il incombe au fabricant de garantir que les instructions de montage contiennent des informations sur la fixation du produit et que celles-ci sont appropriées à la classe de résistance à l’effraction déclarée pour le produit. Comme avec les autres normes référencées, cette spécification utilise un précadre normalisé et le produit est monté selon les instructions du fabricant. Ta evropski standard določa preskusno metodo za ugotavljanje odpornosti proti poskusom ročnega vloma, da se ocenijo značilnosti protivlomne odpornosti vrat, oken, obešenih fasad, mrež in polken. Velja za naslednje načine odpiranja: obračanje, nagibanje, zlaganje, obračanje-nagibanje, obešanje na vrhu ali na dnu, drsenje (vodoravno ali navpično) in zvijanje ter pritrjene konstrukcije. Ta evropski standard ne zajema neposredno odpornosti ključavnic in vložkov proti napadom z orodji za vdiranje. Ne zajema napada na električne, elektronske in elektromagnetno upravljane protivlomne konstrukcijske proizvode z uporabo metod napada, ki lahko premagajo te značilnosti. EN 1630:2011 (E) 4 Foreword This document (EN 1627:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 33 “Doors, windows, shutters, building hadware and curtain walling”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2011. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. This European Standard is one of a series of standards for burglar resistant pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters. This standard is a revision of, and supersedes ENV 1630:1999. The three other standards in this series are revisions of, and supersede ENV 1627, ENV 1628 and ENV 1629 respectively. This revision incorporates grilles and curtain walling in the range of application. The manual test described in this standard covers the areas of vulnerability not suitably assessed by the static loading and dynamic loading tests described in EN 1628:2011 and EN 1629:2011. Certain basic security requirements for the locks, furniture and cylinders are covered by the requirements detailed in Table 3 of EN 1627:2011. These security characteristics are not re-assessed in this test standard and the attack methods and test times have been limited to reflect this. The use of the tools detailed in the various tools sets is described in this standard. This has the advantage of improving the reproducibility of the test. 4 Apparatus and test team 4.1 Test rig The test rig shall consist of a rigid steel frame with movable steel supports into which test specimens of various dimensions can be mounted, as shown in Annex C, Figure C.1. The stiffness of the rig shall be such that a 15 kN force applied to any of the defined points and normal to the plane of the frame shall not cause a deflection of more than 5 mm. The test rig shall not impede the execution of the test. 4.2 Test team 4.2.1 Personnel The requirements for the test team personnel shall be in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, 5.2. 4.2.2 Composition of the test team The test team shall comprise a minimum of two people.
At least two members of the test team shall be capable of performing the manual test. At least one member of the test team shall be competent to record the data and observations in such a way that a test report can be established. For each test in an area of attack only one test team member shall be permitted. 4.2.3 Essential capabilities of the test team members In order to perform the manual test, test team members shall be able to demonstrate that they are:
 mentally alert and well-motivated to maintain a sustained burglary attack;  physically able to perform the test, and are able to withstand the physical strain likely to be imposed for the duration of the test;
 free from mobility impairments and have normal vision, corrected where necessary;  capable of reflecting current modus operandi during burglary attacks using reasonable but not excessive force reflecting the anticipated attack relevant to the resistance class.

EN 1630:2011 (E) 8 In addition, the test team shall be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of:  the design and manufacture of burglar resistant construction products including the locks, hardware and materials used;  current modus operandi during burglary attacks;  operation and control of test equipment;  operation, control and maintenance of the attack tool sets;  operation, control and maintenance of the measuring equipment;  the handling of the tools used when performing the test for burglar resistance. 4.2.4 Training The test team shall have the opportunity for continuous development of skills and expertise appropriate to the performance of the tests, including:  checking and assessing of video recording of the tests by the test team;

prEN 1630:2009 (E) 4 Foreword This document (prEN 1630:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 33 “Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This document is currently submitted to the Formal vote. This document will supersede ENV 1630:1999. This European Standard is one of a series of standards for burglar resistant windows, doorsets and shutters. The other standards in the series are: — prEN 1627, Pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters – Burglar resistance
– Requirements and classification; — prEN 1628, Pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters – Burglar resistance – Test method for the determination of resistance under static loading; — prEN 1629, Pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters – Burglar resistance – Test method for the determination of resistance under dynamic loading. This standard is a revision of, and supersedes ENV 1630:1999. The three other standards in this series are revisions of, and supersede ENV 1627, ENV 1628 and ENV 1629 respectively. The manual test described in this standard covers the areas of vulnerability not suitably assessed by the static loading and dynamic loading tests described in prEN 1628 and prEN 1629. Certain basic security requirements for the locks, furniture and cylinders are covered by the requirements detailed in Table 2 of prEN 1627:2009. These security characteristics are not re-assessed in this test standard and the attack methods and test times have been limited to reflect this. The use of the tools detailed in the various tools sets is described in this standard. This has the advantage of improving the reproducibility of the test. kSIST prEN 1630:2009



prEN 1630:2009 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies a test method for the determination of resistance to manual burglary attempts in order to assess the burglar resistant characteristics of pedestrian doorsets, windows, curtain walling, grilles and shutters. It is applicable to the following means of opening: Turning, tilting, folding, turn-tilting, top or bottom hung, sliding (horizontally and vertically) and rolling as well as fixed constructions. This European Standard does not directly cover the resistance of locks and cylinders to attack with picking tools. It also does not cover the attack of electric, electronic and electromagnetic operated burglar resistant construction products using attack methods that might defeat these characteristics.
It is acknowledged that there are two aspects to the burglar resistance performance of construction products, their normal resistance to forced operation and their ability to remain fixed to the building. Due to the limitation of reproducing the fixing methods and building construction in a laboratory environment this aspect is not fully covered by the standard. This is particularly true with products built into a building. The performance of the fixed part of the product is evaluated using a standard sub frame. It is the manufacturer´s responsibility to ensure that guidance on the fixing of the product is contained in the mounting instructions and that this guidance is suitable for the burglar resistance class claimed for the product. As with the other referenced standards this specification uses a standard sub frame and the product is mounted according to the manufacturers' instructions. An example for the contents of the manufacturer´s installation instructions is given in Annex A of prEN 1627:2009. This test method does not evaluate the performance of the fixing to the building. This European Standard does not apply to doors, gates and barriers, intended for installation in areas in the reach of persons, and for which the main intended uses are giving safe access for goods and vehicles accompanied or driven by persons in industrial, commercial or residential premises, as covered by EN 13241-1. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. prEN 1630:2009 (E) 6 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this European Standard, the terms and definitions given in prEN 1627:2009 and the following apply: 3.1 attack side side of the test specimen defined by the applicant as the side exposed to attack

4 Apparatus and test team 4.1 Test rig The test rig shall consist of a rigid steel frame with movable steel supports into which test specimens of various dimensions can be mounted, as shown in Annex C, Figure C.1. The stiffness of the rig shall be such that a 15 kN force applied to any of the defined points and normal to the plane of the frame shall not cause a deflection of more than 5 mm. The test rig shall not impede the execution of the test. 4.2 Test team The test team shall comprise of a minimum of two people. One member of the team shall be assigned overall control and responsibility for the test. The individual time elements and all observations shall be recorded.
All members of the test team shall be capable of carrying out the test. For every test in an area of attack only one operator is allowed. 4.3 Measurement and recording devices 4.3.1 Measuring equipment The following equipment shall be provided: a)
chronometer for measuring the resistance time; b)
chronometer for measuring the total test time; c)
equipment for determining temperature and relative humidity. 4.3.2 Video recording The pre-test and the main test conducted on each test specimen shall be fully recorded with a video recorder. The videotape and any copies of it shall not be published nor shown publicly. NOTE 1 The video may be used as a reference when subsequent changes are made to the product.
NOTE 2 A time reference or code should be shown in the video. NOTE 3 When a test laboratory is asked to conduct the test and a video is recorded, the test laboratory should include restrictions on the use of the video in their terms and conditions of contract with the submitter. kSIST prEN 1630:2009
