EN 14423:2013+A1:2016 (E) 3 European foreword This document (EN 14423:2013+A1:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 “Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2017, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by March 2017. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. NOTE A distinction is made between the connector end and the tail end of coupling assemblies. The former is the part by which the coupling is connected to an appliance or pipe (for various types of connectors, see Table 2), while the latter (including the tail end fitting and clamp) is fastened to a hose (see 7.2 and 7.4).
