The purpose of the IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1 is to define requirements that allow compliant ships to connect to compliant high-voltage shore power supplies through a compatible shore-to-ship connection.
IEC 62613 has been written to address the needs of 80005-1 in terms of plugs, socket-outlets, ship connectors and ship inlets (herein referred to as "accessories") to deliver electrical power to ships in ports.
IEC 62613 applies to accessories with
-   three phases and earth with pilot contacts,
-   one single pole for neutral.
These accessories have rated currents not exceeding 500 A and rated operating voltages not exceeding 12 kV 50/60 Hz.
These accessories are primarily intended for use outdoors, in a seawater environment, for the shore supply of ships (ship-to-shore connection), in an ambient temperature within the range of  25 °C to +45 °C.
NOTE 1: In some countries, other ambient temperatures may prevail and may need to be taken into account.
These accessories are not intended for use in hazardous areas. In such locations where special conditions prevail, additional requirements may be necessary.
Part 2 of IEC 62613 contains the standard sheets for different configurations of (shore) socket-outlets, (shore) plugs, ship connectors and ship inlets, up to 12 kV, 500 A, 50/60 Hz and with pilot/auxiliary contacts.

L'IEC 62613-2:2016 contient les feuilles de norme de différentes configurations de socles de prise (de quai), fiches (de quai), prises mobiles de navire et socles de connecteur de navire, ci-après désignés appareils, jusqu'à 12 kV, 500 A, 50/60 Hz et avec jusqu'à sept contacts pilotes ou auxiliaires. Les règles générales sont données dans l'IEC 62613-1. Cette deuxième édition annule et remplace la première édition publiée en 2011. Cette édition constitue une révision technique. Cette édition comprend les modifications techniques majeures suivantes par rapport à l'édition précédente:
a) ajout de la configuration I: 7,2 kV 350 A appareils triphasés avec trois contacts pilotes IP0;
b) ajout de la configuration J: 12 kV 500 A appareils triphasés avec sept contacts pilotes;
c) amélioration des dessins dans les feuilles de norme et ajout de dimensions manquantes.

Namen standarda IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1 je določitev zahtev, ki skladnim ladjam omogoča, da se povežejo s skladnimi visokonapetostnimi viri napajanja prek združljivega priključnega sistema med ladjo in kopnim.
Standard IEC 62613 je bil oblikovan za obravnavo zahtev v skladu s standardom 80005-1, ki so povezane z vtiči, vtičnicami, ladijskimi priključki in ladijskimi dovodi (v nadaljnjem besedilu: »dodatki«), ki ladjam v pristaniščih dovajajo električno energijo.
Standard IEC 62613 se uporablja za dodatke, ki so:
– trifazni z ozemljitvijo in pilotnimi priključki;
– enopolno stikalo za nevtralni priključek.
Nazivni tok teh dodatkov ne presega 500 A in nazivna obratovalna napetost ne presega 12 kV, 50/60 Hz.

INTRODUCTION
International Standard series IEC 62613 has been developed to address the needs in terms of
plugs, socket-outlets and ship couplers (ship connectors and ship inlets), herein referred to as
“accessories”, of IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1:2012, Utility connections in port – Part 1: High
Voltage Shore Connection (HVSC) Systems – General requirements. The purpose of
IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1 is to define requirements that allow compliant ships to connect to
compliant high-voltage shore power supplies through standardized shore-to-ship connection
accessories.
Ships that do not require connecting with standardized high-voltage shore power supplies as
above may use accessories that are not covered by the standard sheets of IEC 62613-2 but
they may find it impossible to connect to these shore supplies.
Other low voltage plugs, socket-outlets, connectors and inlets used for the connection of
certain ship types to low-voltage shore power supplies can be found in the IEC 60309 series.
The IEC 62613 series is divided into the following parts:
– Part 1: General requirements, comprising clauses of a general character
– Part 2: Dimensional compatibility and interchangeability requirements for accessories to
be used by various types of ships
These ships are described in IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1.

FOREWORD 1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end and in addition to other activities, IEC publishes International Standards, Technical Specifications, Technical Reports, Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides (hereafter referred to as “IEC Publication(s)”). – 6 – IEC 62613-2:2016 © IEC 2016 INTRODUCTION International Standard series IEC 62613 has been developed to address the needs in terms of plugs, socket-outlets and ship couplers (ship connectors and ship inlets), herein referred to as “accessories”, of IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1:2012, Utility connections in port – Part 1: High Voltage Shore Connection (HVSC) Systems – General requirements. The purpose of IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1 is to define requirements that allow compliant ships to connect to compliant high-voltage shore power supplies through standardized shore-to-ship connection accessories. Ships that do not require connecting with standardized high-voltage shore power supplies as above may use accessories that are not covered by the standard sheets of IEC 62613-2 but they may find it impossible to connect to these shore supplies. Other low voltage plugs, socket-outlets, connectors and inlets used for the connection of certain ship types to low-voltage shore power supplies can be found in the IEC 60309 series. The IEC 62613 series is divided into the following parts: – Part 1: General requirements, comprising clauses of a general character – Part 2: Dimensional compatibility and interchangeability requirements for accessories to be used by various types of ships These ships are described in IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-1.
