This International Standard specifies a method for determining the water vapour absorption of leather. The method
is applicable for all leathers but is particularly relevant for leathers intended for footwear uppers and linings.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Wasserdampfaufnahme von Leder fest. Das Verfahren ist für alle Leder anwendbar, von besonderem Interesse ist es jedoch für Oberleder und Innenfutter von Schuhwerk.

ISO 17229:2016 spécifie une méthode permettant de déterminer l'absorption de vapeur d'eau par un cuir. Cette méthode est applicable à tous les cuirs mais elle présente un intérêt tout particulier pour les cuirs destinés à constituer la tige et la doublure d'articles chaussants.

Ta mednarodni standard določa metodo za ugotavljanje vpijanja vodne pare usnja. Metoda se uporablja za vse vrste usnja, vendar je še posebej primerna za usnje za zgornje dele obutve in vložke.

This document (EN ISO 17229:2016) has been prepared by Technical Committee IULTCS “International
Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies” in collaboration with Technical Committee
CEN/TC 289 “Leather” the secretariat of which is held by UNI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2016, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2016.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent
rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 17229:2002.

FprEN ISO 17229:2015 (D) 3 Vorwort Dieses Dokument (FprEN ISO 17229:2015) wurde vom Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 289 „Leder“, dessen Sekretariat vom UNI (Italien) gehalten wird, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Technischen Komitee „International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS)“, erarbeitet. Dieses Dokument ist derzeit zur parallelen formellen Abstimmung vorgelegt. Es wird auf die Möglichkeit hingewiesen, dass einige Texte dieses Dokuments Patentrechte berühren können.
