This document specifies requirements and test methods for the non-metallic inserts with resistance against mechanical perforation, intended to function as components of PPE footwear (e.g. as described by ISO 20345, ISO 20346 and ISO 20347).

Modification of annex ZA and addition of an European informative annex

This document specifies a method of test for the slip resistance of PPE footwear. It is not applicable to special purpose footwear containing spikes, metal studs or similar.
Footwear claiming ?slip resistance' would be deemed an item of personal protective equipment.
NOTE    For product development purposes, sole units, outsoles or other soling components such as top pieces may be tested.

It is expected that EN 15090 will be amended as soon as this work is finished.
