ISO/TC 165/WG 11 - Solid and mechanically laminated timber products

This document establishes the basic principles for rules and procedures governing the visual sorting of timber for use in structural applications.

ISO 13912:2017 establishes the basic principles for rules and procedures governing the machine sorting of timber for use in structural applications. This applies to conventional bending type strength-grading machines as well as more recent machines that use other properties for strength-grading purposes.

ISO 16598:2015 provides a basic international framework for establishing structural classes for sawn timber.

ISO 13910:2014 specifies test procedures for full-size sawn timber that has been strength-graded, for the derivation of design properties in codes dealing with structural engineering design. It is applicable to sawn timber of rectangular cross-section subjected to a short-duration load.
