This European Standard specifies a test method simulating practical conditions for establishing whether a
product for hygienic handrub reduces the release of virus contamination on hands when rubbed onto the
artificially contaminated hands of volunteers.
NOTE 1 Attention is drawn to the fact that tests on human volunteers are the subject of legal provisions in
certain European countries/regions.
This European Standard applies to products for hygienic handrub for use in areas and situations where
disinfection is medically indicated. Such indications occur in patient care, for example:
– in hospitals, in community medical facilities and in dental institutions;
– in clinics of schools, of kindergardens and of nursing homes.
and may occur in the workplace and in the home. It may also include services such as laundries and kitchens
supplying products directly for the patient.
EN 14885 specifies in detail the relationship of the various tests to one another and to “use recommendations”.
NOTE 2 This method corresponds to a phase 2, step 2 test.

This document gives a method for determining the resistance to cracking of steel pipes in sour service. This test method employs a full-scale test specimen consisting of a short length of pipe (a ‘full ring’), sealed at each end to contain the sour test environment within. The test method applies to any pipe; seamless, longitudinally welded (with or without filler), helical welded, and to girth welds between pipes. NOTE 1 The specimen is usually a pipe but can also consist of flange neck or section of a bend, or other tubular component or a combination of the above. NOTE 2 This test method can also be used for corrosion resistant alloys (CRAs). The method utilizes ovalization by mechanical loading to produce a circumferential stress, equal to the target hoop stress, at two diametrically opposite locations on the inside surface of the test specimen. The test specimen is then subjected to single sided exposure to the sour test environment. NOTE 3 The test also allows measurement of hydrogen permeation rates.

This document specifies a method for the measurement of effective focal spot dimensions above 0,1 mm of X-ray systems up to and including 1 000 kV X-ray voltage by means of the pinhole camera method with digital evaluation. The tube voltage applied for this measurement is restricted to 200 kV for visual film evaluation and can be selected higher than 200 kV if digital detectors are used. The imaging quality and the resolution of X-ray images depend highly on the characteristics of the effective focal spot, in particular the size and the two-dimensional intensity distribution as seen from the detector plane. Compared to the other methods specified in the EN 12543 series and the ISO 32543 series, this method allows to obtain an image of the focal spot and to see the state of it (e.g. cratering of the anode). This test method provides instructions for determining the effective size (dimensions) of standard (macro focal spots) and mini focal spots of industrial X-ray tubes. This determination is based on the measurement of an image of a focal spot that has been radiographically recorded with a “pinhole” technique and evaluated with a digital method. For the characterization of commercial X-ray tube types (i.e. for advertising or trade), the specific FS (focal spot) values of Annex A can be used.

This document explains concepts and provides approaches to the following aspects of the production of reference materials (RMs): — the assessment of homogeneity; — the assessment of stability and the management of the risks associated with possible stability issues related to the properties of interest; — the characterization and value assignment of properties of an RM; — the evaluation of uncertainty for certified values; — the establishment of the metrological traceability of certified values. The guidance given supports the implementation of ISO 17034. Other approaches can also be used as long as the requirements of ISO 17034 are fulfilled. Brief guidance on the need for commutability assessment (6.11) is given in this document, but no technical details are provided. A brief introduction for the characterization of qualitative properties (9.6 to 9.8) is provided, together with brief guidance on sampling such materials for homogeneity tests (7.4.1.2). However, statistical methods for the assessment of the homogeneity and stability of RMs for qualitative properties are not covered. This document is also not applicable to multivariate quantities, such as spectral data. NOTE ISO 33406 gives more information on the production of RMs with one or more qualitative property values.

This document specifies the measurement methods and specification of image quality of lenticular prints that are used for changing images. This document does not cover lenticular prints that are used for 3D images. NOTE Lenticular prints for 3D images can be measured with the same types of procedures. However, it needs more information, such as the dependence of the measurement distance, to evaluate the 3D performance. This document specifically describes measurement methods for crosstalk, viewing angle range, angular misalignment from the designed viewing angle and the uniformity of the image within the printing area of the lenticular print images. These are critical for the image quality of lenticular prints for changing images. This document is applicable to lenticular prints produced by printing technologies that include impact and non-impact printing. Examples of the former are off-set, gravure and flexography, while the examples of the latter are silver halide, inkjet, dye diffusion thermal transfer and electrophotography. The multiple laser images (MLI) and changeable laser images (CLI) process of using a laser to write through a lenticular screen at different angles to create two monochrome images is also used.

This document specifies the determination of phytase activity in feeding stuff samples, including feed raw materials from plant origin, compound feeds (complete, complementary, mineral feeds), premixtures and feed additives.
The method is applicable to, and is collaboratively validated for, the determination of phytase activity in complete feed, complementary feed including mineral feed, premixtures and feed additives.
The method does not distinguish between phytase added as a feed additive and endogenous phytase already present in the feed materials. Therefore, the method is also applicable for feed materials from plant origin.
The method does not apply to evaluating or comparing the in vivo efficacy of the phytase product. It is not a predictive method of the in vivo efficacy of phytases present on the market as they can develop different in vivo efficacy per unit of activity.

This document specifies the compositional ranges of a series of filler metals used for brazing. The filler metals are divided into seven classes, related to their composition but not necessarily to the major element present.
NOTE 1        For the major element(s) present, see Annex A.
In the case of composite products, such as flux-coated rods, pastes or plastics tapes, this document covers only the filler metal that forms parts of such products. The melting temperatures given in the tables are only approximate, as they necessarily vary within the compositional range of the filler metal. Therefore, they are given only for information. Technical delivery conditions are given for brazing filler metals and products containing brazing filler metals with other constituents such as flux and/or binders.
NOTE 2        For some applications, such as precious metal jewellery, aerospace and dental, filler metals other than those included in this document are often used. These are covered by other International Standards to which reference can be made.

This document specifies a generic tyre model and model parameters for calculating lateral tyre forces, for use in lateral stability simulations of heavy commercial vehicle combinations with test cases according to ISO 14791. This tyre model is parameterized by easily understandable characteristics which can be estimated from tyre measurement data. If tyre data is not available, the parameters proposed in this document can be used. One typical application area of this document is the comparing and ranking of various vehicle combination configurations with respect to on-road lateral and roll stability. Such an assessment is usually performed at close to constant speed levels typical for public roads, usually higher than 40 km/h. The tyre model, however, can be useful for both high- and low-speed manoeuvring. This tyre model is relevant for representing the lateral performance of tyres on a vehicle combination when the longitudinal forces are insignificant, typically less than 10 % of the peak longitudinal friction utilization. The tyre model can be used for normal forces ranging from zero to twice the nominal normal force of the tyre. This tyre model has been developed for moderate lateral slip conditions; it is important that the model is used with care for scenarios where tyre slip angle exceeds 15°. This tyre model is suitable for vehicle models operating in the yaw and roll plane which naturally include vertical load transfer between the wheels during manoeuvring. The tyre model can also be used in models with less complexity such as pure yaw plane models. This document applies to heavy vehicles, including commercial vehicles, commercial vehicle combinations, buses and articulated buses as defined in ISO 3833 (trucks and trailers with a maximum weight above 3,5 tonnes and buses and articulated buses with a maximum weight above 5 tonnes, according to ECE and EC vehicle classification, categories M3, N2, N3, O3 and O4).

This document addresses ultrasonic test systems implementing array probes, for contact technique (with or without wedge) or for immersion technique, with centre frequencies in the range of 0,5 MHz to 10 MHz. This document provides methods and acceptance criteria for determining the compliance of the complete system (see 3.2). Its purpose is for the verification of the correct operation of the system prior to testing or verification of the absence of degradation of the system. The methods are not intended to prove the suitability of the system for particular applications but are intended to prove the capability of the complete system (used for an application) to operate correctly according to the settings used. Tests can be performed on individual ultrasonic beams (for phased array technique, see 9.4.4) or on resulting images (for phased array technique and total focusing technique, see 9.4.3). The tests can be limited to the functions that are intended to be used for a certain application. This document does not cover the sensitivity setting of the system for a specific application. Nor does it apply to the characterization or verification of the mechanical scanning equipment. It is intended that these items will be covered by the test procedure. This document does not address the phased array technique using tandem technique. The characterization of beams, as recommended in case of dead elements or for more in-depth knowledge of the beams, is presented in Annex A. It is not applicable for signal processing technology using arrays. NOTE Unless stated otherwise, in this document ‘TFM’ and ‘TFM technique’ refer to the total focusing technique as defined in ISO 23243, and to related techniques, see for example ISO 23865 and ISO 23234.

This document describes two methods to measure in repeatable conditions the filtration efficiency of filter elements used in aviation and aerospace hydraulic fluid systems. It can be applied when evaluating the overall characteristics of a filter element according to ISO 14085-1, or separately. Since the filtration efficiency of a filter element can change during its service life as it is clogging, this test method specifies its continuous measurement by using on-line particle counters with continuous injection of test contaminant and recirculation of particles not retained by the test filter element until the differential pressure across the element reaches a given final or “terminal” value. This document allows the efficiency to be measured under both steady or cyclic flow conditions. It is also applicable to measuring the stabilized contamination levels that are produced by the filter element while testing with cyclic flow. This document is not applicable to qualifying a filter element under replicate conditions of service; this can only be done by a specific test protocol developed for the purpose, including actual conditions of use, e.g. the operating fluid or contamination. The test data resulting from application of this document can be used to compare the performance of aerospace hydraulic filter elements.
