This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (i.e. ISO 2905-1974). Specifies dimensions for spindle noses for use with adjustable adaptors and quick-change adaptors used multi-spindle heads. ISO 2905 specifies requirements for types of adjustable adaptors to fit taper shank drills, reamers and spot-facing cutters.

Page 1, clause 3.1: delete the last sentence "If required, ... numbers"; clause 3.2: the existing text shall be replaced by "The dimensions laid down for the length of the saddle may be decreased by one step using values from the R10 series of preferred numbers." Figure - General dimensions: after "c = multiples of 50 mm", shall be added: "Tolerance on cumulative pitch ±0,2 mm".

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the interchangeability of integral way of the floor-mounted type used in special purpose machines constructed from modular units. The method of construction is alternative to that given in ISO 3589.

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the inerchangeability of support brackets used in special purpose machines constucted from modular units. Gives nominal size and designation.

Specifies dimensions relating to the interchangeability of quill feed single spindle drilling units, quill feed single spindle drilling units with adjusting slide for tool changing, single spindle drilling units, single spindle milling units and single spindle facing and boring units used in special purpose machines constucted from modular units.

Specifies envelope dimensions for rotary tables and their centre bases used in special purpose machines constructed from modular units.

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the interchangeability of integral way columns used in special purpose machines constructed from modular units.

Specifies dimensions of tenon drive and flanges for mounting on quill feed units and quill feed with adjusting slide for tool changing.

Specifies a range of basic dimensions for multi-spindle heat casings and gives also dimensions for the interchangeability of multi-spindle heat input drive shafts with motor coupling. The nominal size of multi-spindle heads is given by the nominal width of the saddle on the related slide unit.

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the interchangeability of wing bases for columns used in special purpose machines constructed from modular units. The nominal size of a wing base for columns is given by the nominal width of the saddle on the related slide unit.

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the interchangeability of headstocks used special purpose machines constructed from modular units. Gives furthermore classification and designation.

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the interchangeability of wing bases for slide units used in special machines constructed from modular units. Gives furthermore nominal size and designation.

Specifies certain dimensions relating to the interchangeability of slide units used in special machines constructed from modular units. Gives furthermore the designation and numerical values of nominal sizes.
