This document specifies the technical delivery requirements for seamless and welded butt welding fittings (elbows, concentric and eccentric reducers, equal and reducing tees, caps) made of carbon and alloy steel in two test categories which are intended for pressure purposes at room temperature, at low temperature or at elevated temperatures, and for the transmission and distribution of fluids and gases.
It specifies:
a)   type of fittings;
type A: Butt-welding fittings with reduced pressure factor;
type B: Butt-welding fittings for use at full service pressure;
b)   steel grades and their chemical compositions;
c)   mechanical properties;
d)   dimensions and tolerances;
e)   requirements for inspection and testing;
f)   inspection documents;
g)   marking;

NOTE   The selection of the appropriate fitting (material, thickness) is the ultimate responsibility of the manufacturer of the pressure equipment (see European Legislation for Pressure Equipment). In the case of a harmonized supporting standard for materials, presumption of conformity to the ESRs is limited to technical data of materials in the standard and does not presume adequacy of the material to a specific item of equipment. Consequently, it is essential that the technical data stated in the material standard be assessed against the design requirements of this specific item of equipment to verify that the ESRs of the PED are satisfied.

This part of this European Standard specifies technical delivery conditions for hot-finished seamless, electric welded and submerged arc welded steel structural hollow sections for mechanical engineering purposes of circular, square, rectangular or elliptical forms.
It applies to hollow sections formed hot, with or without subsequent heat treatment, or formed cold with subsequent heat treatment above 580 °C to obtain equivalent mechanical properties to those obtained in the hot formed product.
NOTE 1   The requirements for tolerances, dimensions and sectional properties are specified in EN 10210-2.
NOTE 2   The attention of users is drawn to the fact that whilst cold formed grades in EN 10219-3 can have equivalent mechanical properties to hot-finished grades in EN 10210-3 the sectional properties of square and rectangular hollow sections in EN 10210-2 and EN 10219-2 are not equivalent.
NOTE 3   A range of material grades is specified in this document and the user should select the grade most appropriate to the intended use and service conditions. The grades and mechanical properties of the finished hollow sections are generally comparable with those in EN 10025-2, EN 10025-3, EN 10025-4, EN 10025-5 and EN 10025-6.
NOTE 4   The requirements for seamless and welded steel structural hollow sections for use in offshore structures are covered in EN 10225.
NOTE 5    Spiral welded hollow sections are to be used with caution in construction of dynamic behaviour (fatigue stress) where up to now, there is insufficient knowledge of their performance.

This European Standard specifies an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry routine method for the analysis of unalloyed and low alloyed steels, whose iron content shall be at least 95 %.
This method is applicable to the elements listed in Table 1 within the ranges shown.
Table 1 - Application ranges
(...)
In all cases, the ranges specified can be extended or adapted (after validation) for the determination of other mass fractions, provided that the iron content in the samples under concern is above 95 %.
Other elements may be included. However such elements and their mass fractions should be carefully checked, taking into account the possible interferences, the sensitivity, the resolution and the linearity criteria of each instrument and each wavelength.
Depending also on the sensitivity of each instrument, suitable dilutions of the calibration and the test sample solutions may be necessary.
Moreover, even if the method described is "multi elemental", it is not absolutely necessary to carry out the determination of all the elements of its scope simultaneously: the measurement conditions have to be optimised by each laboratory, depending on the performances of each apparatus available.
NOTE 1   The accuracy of the method is unsatisfactory for phosphorus contents from 0,05 to 0,1 %.
NOTE 2   The trueness of the method couldn't be checked for vanadium contents below 0,05 %.
NOTE 3   The precision of the method is unsatisfactory for aluminium (total) contents below 0,02 %.

This part of ISO 15614 specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification (pWPS) for production and repair welding of non-alloyed and low-alloyed cast irons is qualified by fusion welding procedure tests. This part of ISO 15614 defines the conditions for execution of the welding procedure tests and the range of qualification for welding procedures for all practical welding operations within the range of a defined list of variables. This part of ISO 15614 is applicable to all new welding procedures. However, it does not invalidate previous welding procedure tests made to former national standards or specifications. Where additional tests have to be carried out to make the qualification technically equivalent, it is only necessary to do the additional tests on a test piece made in accordance with this part of ISO 15614. Additional tests may be required by application standards.
