Eye and face protection for sports use - Part 2: Requirements for eye protectors for squash and eye protectors for racquetball and squash 57 (ISO 18527-2:2021)
This document applies to all eye protectors intended for eye protection against hazards during playing or instructing in the sports of squash, racquetball and squash 57 and sports with similar hazards and no greater risks. It applies to eye protectors that incorporate prescription lenses but has no specific tests for eye protectors designed for use over spectacles.
It specifies requirements and testing for materials, performance, marking of eye protectors and information to be supplied by the manufacturer.
Information on the selection and use of eye protectors for squash, racquetball and squash 57 is given in Annex A.
This document does not apply to
a) sports eye protectors designed for use over prescription spectacles,
b) eye protectors for other occupational applications,
c) eye protectors without lenses,
d) eye protectors for sports where the hazards are unrelated to the hazards in or involve greater risks than squash, racquetball and squash 57, and
e) eye protectors with gradient-tinted lenses because they are not appropriate for squash, racquetball or squash 57.

Dieses Dokument ist für alle Augenschutzgeräte anwendbar, die für den Schutz der Augen gegen Gefährdungen beim Spielen oder der Unterrichtung der Sportarten Squash, Racquetball und Squash 57 und von Sportarten mit ähnlichen Gefährdungen und höchstens gleich großen Risiken vorgesehen sind. Es ist anwendbar für Augenschutz¬geräte, die Korrektionssichtscheiben enthalten, enthält jedoch keine entsprechenden Prüfungen für Augenschutzgeräte, die für das Tragen über Bügelbrillen ausgelegt sind.
Es legt die Anforderungen und Prüfungen für Werkstoffe, Funktionstauglichkeit, Kennzeichnung von Augenschutzgeräten und die vom Hersteller bereitzustellenden Informationen fest.
Anhang A enthält Informationen zur Auswahl und Verwendung von Augenschutzgeräten für Squash, Racquetball und Squash 57.
Dieses Dokument ist nicht anwendbar für:
a) Sport-Augenschutzgeräte, die für das Tragen über Korrektionsbügelbrillen ausgelegt sind;
b) Augenschutzgeräte für andere betriebliche Anwendungen;
c) Augenschutzgeräte ohne Sichtscheiben;
d) Augenschutzgeräte für Sportarten, deren Gefährdungen nicht mit den bei Squash, Racquetball und Squash 57 auftretenden Gefährdungen verwandt sind oder die mit größeren Risiken als diese verbunden sind; und
e) Augenschutzgeräte mit Verlaufssichtscheiben, da sie nicht für Squash, Racquetball oder Squash 57 geeignet sind.

Le présent document s'applique à tous les protecteurs de l'œil destinés à assurer la protection des yeux contre les dangers liés à la pratique ou à l'enseignement du squash, racquetball et squash 57, ainsi que des sports présentant des dangers semblables sans impliquer de risques plus importants. Il s'applique aux protecteurs de l'œil comprenant des verres correcteurs, mais ne comporte pas d'essais spécifiques pour les protecteurs de l'œil conçus pour être portés par-dessus des lunettes.
Il spécifie les exigences et essais pour les matériaux, la performance et le marquage des protecteurs de l'œil, ainsi que les informations à fournir par le fabricant.
L'Annexe A fournit des informations sur la sélection et l'utilisation de protecteurs de l'œil pour la pratique du squash, du racquetball et du squash 57.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas:
a) aux protecteurs de l'œil pour la pratique sportive lorsqu'ils sont destinés à être portés par-dessus des lunettes de vue;

d) aux protecteurs de l'œil pour les sports dans lesquels les dangers n'ont pas de lien avec les dangers inhérents au squash, au racquetball ou au squash 57, ou comportant des risques supérieurs aux risques encourus lors de la pratique de ces sports;
e) aux protecteurs de l'œil avec des verres dégradés, car ces derniers ne conviennent pas à la pratique du squash, du racquetball ou du squash 57.

This document (EN ISO 18527-2:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 94
"Personal safety -- Personal protective equipment" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC
85 “Eye protective equipment” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by March 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
