This European Standard identifies material independent the performance characteristic that is applicable to door leafs exposed to extended periods of wetness and frequent splash water.
This European Standard does not apply to doors installed in etching environments or doors cleaned with etching detergents having a pH value lower than 5 or higher than 9.

Diese Europäische Norm identifiziert unabhängig vom Werkstoff die Leistungseigenschaft, welche für Türblätter gilt, die während längeren Zeiträumen Feuchtigkeit und häufigem Spritzwasser ausgesetzt sind.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Türen, die in ätzenden Umgebungen eingebaut sind oder Türen, die mit ätzenden Reinigungsmitteln behandelt werden, welche einen pH-Wert unter 5 oder über 9 haben.

La présente Norme européenne identifie les caractéristiques de performances applicables aux vantaux de portes exposés à de longues périodes d'humidité et à de fréquentes projections d’eau, quel que soit le matériau.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux portes installées dans des environnements corrosifs ou nettoyées avec des détergents décapants ayant un pH inférieur à 5 ou supérieur à 9.

EN 16580:2015 (E) 4 Introduction Increased requirements for hygiene lead to more intensive cleaning; at the same time, the working time spent on cleaning will be shortened and this requires cleaning processes which are efficient and automatically more stressing for the door leaves. EN 16580:2015 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard identifies the performance characteristic that is applicable to door leaves for pedestrian doors, independent of the material, that are exposed to extended periods of wetness and/or frequent splash water. NOTE Rain is not considered as “frequent splash water” condition. This European Standard does not apply to: — door leaves exposed to liquid having a pH-value lower than 5.5 or higher than 8.5; — door frames, complete door assemblies or doorsets. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively referenced in this document and are indispensable for its application.
