This standard defines a pratical method for determining the heat leak performance of cryogenic vessels. The methods include measurement on both open and closed systems. This standard neither specify the requirement levels for insulation performance nor when the methodology defined is applied. These requirements may be defined in design or operational standards/regulations.

The following applications are covered:
- Eutectic cooling devices with or without compressor/condenser unit intended to be installed into insulated means of transport (e.g. lorries, trailers, swap bodies, other transport equipment and wagons). Charging of the eutectic elements from the liquid to the solid phase can be performed either by a compressor/condenser unit mounted onto the vehicle or by a stationary direct or indirect system. The eutectic cooling devices are equipped, if relevant, with necessary components for the charging, transmission, cooling and/or with temperature control devices. The eutectic elements can be fitted with or without fans;
- Eutectic cooling devices with independent eutectic elements are not covered by this document.

National regulations or appropriate International or national standards can be referred to for competence on electrical and electronic systems.
NOTE 2 This document does not apply to persons carrying out work on self‑contained refrigerating systems as defined in ISO 5149‑1 or EN 378‑1, from the initial design of the product to the complete manufacture of the product, provided the process is controlled and the methods used are checked by an organization or individual responsible for the conformance with statutory requirements on health, safety and environment (e.g. energy efficiency).

This document specifies the terms, definitions, test conditions, test methods and requirements for rating the performance of air conditioners and liquid chilling packages, with electrically driven compressors and with evaporatively cooled condenser when used for space cooling. The evaporatively cooled condenser is cooled by air and by the evaporation of external additional water. This additional external water is fed by a specific water supply circuit or by a water tank.
This document is not applicable to air-to-air and air-to-water air conditioners with a condenser cooled by air and by the evaporation of water condensed on their evaporator.
This document is applicable to units equipped with a water tank or with a continuous water circuit supply that can also operate without water feeding. However, this document only concerns the testing of these units with water feeding.
This document is applicable to factory-made units which can be ducted.
This document is applicable to factory-made units of either fixed capacity or variable capacity by any means.
Packaged units, single split and multisplit systems are covered by this document.
With regard to units consisting of several parts, this document applies only to those designed and supplied as a complete package.
For evaporatively cooled condenser units that can also operate in heating mode, their performance in this mode is determined according to EN 14511:2022 (all parts).
Units used for industrial processes cooling are not within the scope of this document.
This document specifies the conditions for which performance data will be declared for compliance with the Ecodesign Regulation 206/2012 and with the Energy Labelling Regulation 626/2011 of air conditioners with evaporatively cooled condenser in cooling mode.

This document describes the procedure to be followed when designing valve parts subjected to pressure as well as the criteria to be used in the selection of materials.
This document describes methods by which reduced impact values at low temperatures may be taken into account in a safe manner.
This document applies to the design of bodies and bonnets for pressure relief devices, including bursting disc devices, with respect to pressure containment but it does not apply to any other aspects of the design or application of pressure relief devices.
In addition, this document is applicable to valves with a maximum operating temperature not exceeding 200 °C and a maximum allowable pressure not exceeding 160 bar[1].
[1] 1 bar = 0,1 MPa.

This European Standard specifies the requirements for the safety of persons and property, provides guidance for the protection of the environment and establishes procedures for the operation, maintenance and repair of refrigerating systems and the recovery of refrigerants.
The term “refrigerating system” used in this European Standard includes heat pumps.
This Part 3 of the European Standard is applicable to the installation site (plant space and services). It specifies requirements on the site for safety, which may be needed because of, but not directly connected with, the refrigerating system and its ancillary components.
This standard applies:
a) to refrigerating systems, stationary or mobile, of all sizes except to vehicle air conditioning systems covered by a specific product standard e.g. ISO 13043;
b) to secondary cooling or heating systems;
c) to the location of the refrigerating systems;
d) to replaced parts and added components after adoption of this standard if they are not identical in function and in the capacity.
