Building hardware - Electrically powered hold-open devices for swing doors - Requirements and test methods
This European Standard specifies requirements for separate hold-open devices and also for hold-open mechanisms incorporated in a door closer. Electrically powered hold-open devices for swing doors manufactured according to this European Standard can hold a swing door at a fixed position or can allow the door to swing freely. In each case interruption of the electrical supply will cause the controlled door to close positively.

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 1155:1997; it was approved by CEN on 7 November 2002.
CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this
amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such
national standards may be obtained on application to the Management Centre or to any CEN member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the
responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Foreword
This document (EN 1155:1997/A1:2002) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN /TC 33 "Doors,
windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or
by endorsement, at the latest by June 2003, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by
September 2004.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and The
European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s).
For relationship with EU Directive(s), see informative annex ZA, which is an integral part of this document.
NOTE This amendment refers only to requirements under the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC), and CE
marking is considered only in regard to this Directive. Where full CE marking may require compliance with other directives it is
understood that this is done by following the relevant risk assessment(s) of these other directives, performed in addition to the
requirements of this standard.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland,

diese Änderung in der betreffenden nationalen Norm, ohne jede Änderung, einzufügen ist. Auf dem letzen Stand befindliche Listen dieser

Vorwort
Dieses Dokument (EN 1155:1997/A1:2002) wurde vom Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 33 „Schlösser und
Baubeschläge“ erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat vom AFNOR gehalten wird.
Diese Europäische Norm muss den Status einer nationalen Norm, entweder durch die Veröffentlichung eines
identischen Textes oder durch Anerkennung bis Juni 2003, und etwaige entgegenstehende nationale Normen
müssen bis September 2004 zurückgezogen werden.
Dieses Dokument wurde unter einem Mandat erstellt, das CEN von der Europäischen Kommission und der
Europäischen Freihandelszone erteilt wurde, und unterstützt die wesentlichen Anforderungen der EG-Richtlinien.
Zur Beziehung zu EU-Richtlinien siehe den informativen Anhang ZA, der integraler Bestandteil dieses Dokumentes
ist.
ANMERKUNG Diese Überarbeitung nimmt nur Bezug auf Anforderungen der Bauprodukten Richtlinie (89/106/EWG), und die
CE-Kennzeichnung kann nur im Zusammenhang mit dieser Richtlinie gesehen werden. Wo eine komplette CE-Kennzeichnung
auch die Übereinstimmung mit anderen Richtlinien erfordert, ist es als selbstverständlich anzusehen dass dies unter Befolgung
der anwendbaren Risikobewertung(en) dieser Richtlinien geschieht, die zusätzlich zu den Anforderungen dieser Norm erfüllt
werden müssen.
