Protective clothing against dangerous solid, liquid and gaseous chemicals, including liquid and solid aerosols - Part 1: Performance requirements for Type 1 (gas-tight) chemical protective suits

This European Standard specifies the minimum requirements, test methods, marking and information supplied by the manufacturer for ventilated and non-ventilated gas-tight chemical protective suits.
It specifies full body personal protective ensembles to be worn for protection against solid, liquid and gaseous chemicals, including liquid and solid aerosols.
This standard does not establish minimum criteria for protection for non-chemical hazards, e.g. radiological, fire, heat, explosive, infective agents. This type of equipment is not intended for total immersion in liquids.
The seams, joins and assemblages attaching the accessories are included within the scope of this standard. This standard specifies only supplementary requirements for components. The basic performance criteria for the components gloves, boots or respiratory protective equipment are given in other European Standards.
Particulate protection is limited to physical penetration of the particulates only.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Mindestanforderungen, Prüfverfahren, Kennzeichnung und Informationen des Herstellers für belüftete und nicht belüftete gasdichte Chemikalienschutzanzüge fest.
Sie legt die persönliche Ganzkörper-Schutzkleidung fest, die zum Schutz gegenfesten, flüssigen und gasförmigen Chemikalien, einschließlich flüssiger und fester Aerosole, zu tragen ist.
Diese Norm stellt keine Mindestkriterien zum Schutz vor nicht-chemischen Gefahren auf, wie z. B. Radioaktivität, Feuer, Hitze, Explosionen, infektiöse Agenzien. Diese Art der Ausrüstung ist nicht für das vollständige Eintauchen in Flüssigkeiten gedacht.
Nähte, Verbindungen und Verbünde zum Anbringen der Zubehörteile werden durch den Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm erfasst. Diese Norm legt nur ergänzende Anforderungen an Komponenten fest. Die grundlegenden Leistungskriterien für die Bestandteile der Handschuhe, Schuhe oder Atemschutzgeräte werden durch andere Europäische Normen bereitgestellt.
Der Schutz vor Partikeln ist ausschließlich auf die Penetration von Partikeln beschränkt.

La présente Norme européenne définit les exigences minimales, les méthodes d’essai, le marquage ainsi que les informations à fournir par le fabricant concernant les combinaisons de protection chimique ventilées et non-ventilées étanches au gaz suivantes.
Elle décrit les combinaisons de protection individuelle devant être portées dans le cadre de réactions dangereuses de matériaux, se présentant uniquement sous forme liquide, gazeuse et de particules.
La présente norme n'établit pas de critères minimum pour la protection contre les dangers non chimiques, par exemple les risques radiologiques, d’incendie, d’explosion ou liés à la chaleur. Ce type d'équipement n'est pas prévu pour une immersion totale dans des liquides.
Les coutures, les jonctions et les assemblages servant à fixer les accessoires sont inclus dans le domaine d'application de la présente norme. Les critères de performance de base pour les accessoires, c'est-à-dire les gants, les bottes ou les équipements de protection respiratoire sont définis dans d'autres Normes européennes.
