Classification of fires

The present document classifies in four categories the different kinds of fires which can be defined in terms of the nature of the fuel. Such a classification is particulary useful in the context of fire fighting by means of an extinguisher.

Brandklassen

Das vorliegende Dokument ordnet verschiedenartige Brände in vier Klassen ein, die durch die Natur des Brennstoffes festgelegt werden können. Diese Einordnung ist besonders nützlich auf dem Gebiet der Brandbekämpfung mittels Feuerlöscher.

Classes de feux

Le présent document classifie en quatre catégories les différentes classes de feux qui peuvent être définie par la nature du combustible. Il est plus particulièrement adapté à la lutte contre l'incendie au moyen d'extincteurs.
