Rubber and plastics machines - Internal mixers - Safety requirements

This standard applies to internal mixers for rubber and plastics as defined in 3.1. The safety requirements and/or measures specified in this standard apply to all internal mixers irrespective of their size and irrespective of the control modes of the hopper front door and discharge door. The safety requirements for the design of exhaust systems and ancillary equipment are not covered by this standard. The safety requirements for the interaction between internal mixers and ancillary equipment are specified. This standard covers the significant hazards listed in Clause 4.

Diese Norm gilt für Innenmischer für Gummi und Kunststoff gemäß 3.1. Die Sicherheitsanforderungen und/oder -maßnahmen dieser Norm gelten für alle Innenmischer unabhängig von ihrer Größe und der Art der Betätigung der Einfüllklappe bzw. des Klapp- oder Schiebesattels. Die sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen an die Gestaltung von Absaugsystemen oder von Zusatzeinrichtungen werden in dieser Norm nicht festgelegt. Die sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen an das Zusammenwirken zwischen Innenmischern und Zusatzeinrichtungen werden festgelegt.

La présente norme s'applique aux mélangeurs internes utilisés pour le caoutchouc et les matières plastiques qui sont définis en 3.1. Les exigences et/ou mesures de sécurité spécifiées dans la présente norme s'appliquent à tous les mélangeurs internes quels que soient leur taille et le mode de commande des portes de chargement et de déchargement. A laboratory internal mixer begins at the feeding door and ends at the material container, which is an integral part of the mixer.
With regard to noise emission measurement and declaration, only laboratory mixers are covered.
Explosion hazards are not dealt with in this document.
NOTE   Internal mixers usually do not produce explosive atmospheres. Where materials are processed, which may cause an explosive atmosphere, the Directive 2014/34/EU on the Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX) can be applied.
