High pressure water jet machines - Safety requirements - Part 1: Machines
This European Standard contains safety-related requirements for high pressure water jet machines with drives of all kinds (e.g. electric motor, internal combustion engine, air and hydraulic) in which pumps are used to generate pressure. This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events arising during assembly, erection, operation and servicing relevant to high pressure water jet machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). All references to high pressure water jet machines within this document shall include machines for one or more of the following industrial applications:
- cleaning;
- surface preparation;
- material removal;
- readjustment of concrete;
- cutting.
This document applies to mobile and fixed high pressure water jet machines, in which the water pressure is generated by a pressure generator/pump and in which the maximum allowable working pressure is more than the upper limit fixed in the scope of EN 60335-2-79.
NOTE 1 25 MPa (250 bar) is currently the upper limit for machines covered by EN 60335-2-79.
NOTE 2 In general the machines in the scope will not be in the scope of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. In some cases, specific parts may be in the scope of that directive, but their application is not dealt with in this document.
This document does not apply to high pressure cleaners which are dealt with in EN 60335-2-54 and EN 60335-2-79.
This document does not cover additional hazards due to the incorporation of high pressure water jet machines into other process-technology machines.
This document does not cover specific hazards associated with explosive atmospheres, use on ships or ambient temperatures outside the range 5 °C to 40 °C.

Hochdruck-Wasserstrahlmaschinen - Sicherheitsanforderungen - Teil 1: Maschinen
Diese Europäische Norm enthält die sicherheitsbezogenen Anforderungen für Hochdruckwasserstrahlmaschinen
mit Antrieben aller Art (z. B. Elektromotor, Verbrennungsmotor, Luft und Hydraulik), bei
denen Pumpen zur Druckerzeugung verwendet werden. Dieser Teil der Europäischen Norm berücksichtigt die
maßgeblichen Gefährdungen, gefährlichen Situationen und Ereignisse, die während der Montage, der
Inbetriebnahme, des Betriebes und der Wartung der beschriebenen Maschinen auftreten können, im Rahmen
der bestimmungsgemäßen Verwendung sowie der vernünftigerweise durch den Hersteller vorhersehbaren
Fehlanwendung (siehe Abschnitt 4). Die in diesem Teil der Europäischen Norm beschriebenen Hochdruckwasserstrahlmaschinen
finden ihre Anwendung in einer oder mehreren der folgenden industriellen Bereiche:
- Reinigung;
- Oberflächenbehandlung;
- Materialabtragung;
- Betonsanierung;
- Schneidanwendungen.
Dieser Teil der Europäischen Norm gilt für mobile und stationär betriebene Hochdruckwasserstrahlmaschinen,
bei denen der Flüssigkeitsdruck durch einen Druckerzeuger oder eine Pumpe erzeugt wird und der maximal
zulässige Betriebsdruck über der oberen Grenze des Anwendungsbereiches nach EN 60335-2-79 liegt.
ANMERKUNG 1 35 MPa (350 bar) ist die aktuelle obere Grenze für Maschinen nach EN 60335-2-79.
ANMERKUNG 2 Im Allgemeinen fallen Maschinen, die im Anwendungsbereich dieses Teils der Europäischen Norm
genannt werden, nicht in den Anwendungsbereich der Druckgeräterichtlinie 97/23/EG. In einigen Fällen können bestimmte
Teile den Anforderungen der Druckgeräterichtlinie unterliegen, deren Anwendung aber im Rahmen dieses Teils der
Europäischen Norm nicht behandelt wird.
Dieser Teil der Europäischen Norm behandelt nicht solche Hochdruckwasserstrahlmaschinen die in
EN 60335-2-54 und EN 60335-2-79 behandelt werden.
Machines à jet d'eau à haute pression - Prescriptions de sécurité - Partie 1: Machines
Cette Norme Européenne contient des prescriptions de sécurité pour les machines à jet d'eau à haute pression avec des installations de tous types (par exemple moteur électrique, moteur à combustion interne, air et hydraulique) dans lesquelles les pompes sont utilisées pour produire de la pression. Ce document traite tous les dangers significatifs, toutes les situations et tous les phénomènes dangereux significatifs se présentant pendant l'assemblage, le montage, la manoeuvre et la mise en service des machines à jet d'eau à haute pression, quand elles sont utilisées comme convenu et dans les conditions d'usage impropres qui sont raisonnablement prévisibles par le fabricant (voir Article 4). Toutes les références aux machines à jet d'eau à haute pression dans ce document inclues les machines destinées pour une ou plusieurs des applications industrielles suivantes :
le nettoyage ;
la préparation de surface ;
le déplacement de matériel ;
le réajustement du béton ;
la découpe.
Le présent document s’applique aux machines à jet d’eau à haute pression, mobiles ou fixes, dans lesquelles la pression d’eau est produite par un générateur de pression ou une pompe, et dans lesquelles la pression de service maximale admissible est supérieure à la limite supérieure fixée par le domaine d’application de l’EN 60335-2-79.
NOTE 1 La limite supérieure est couramment de 35 MPa (350 bar) pour les machines soumises à l’EN 60335-2-79.
NOTE 2 Généralement les machines couvertes par ce domaine d’application ne relèveront pas du domaine d’application de la Directe Equipements Sous Pression 97/23/CE. Dans certains cas des parties spécifiques peuvent être du domaine de cette directive, mais son application n’est pas traitée dans ce document.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux machines à jet d’eau à haute pression faisant l’objet de l’EN 60335 2 54 et de l’EN 60335 2 79.

Ta evropski standard vsebuje z varnostjo povezane zahteve za visokotlačne stroje z vodnim curkom s pogonom vseh vrst (npr. z elektromotorjem, z motorjem z notranjim izgorevanjem, na zračni in hidravlični pogon), pri katerih se za nastanek tlaka uporabljajo črpalke. Ta standard obravnava vse velike nevarnosti, nevarne situacije in primere, ki se pojavljajo med sestavljanjem, postavitvijo, delovanjem in servisiranjem, pomembne za visokotlačne stroje z vodnim curkom, ko se uporabljajo kot predvideno in pod pogoji napačne uporabe, ki jo proizvajalec lahko upravičeno predvidi (glej Klavzulo 4). Vsako sklicevanje na visokotlačne stroje z vodnim curkom v tem dokumentu vključuje stroje za eno ali več od naslednjih industrijskih uporab: čiščenje; priprava površine; odstranjevanje materiala; ponovno prilagajanje cementa; rezanje. Ta dokument velja za premične in fiksne visokotlačne stroje z vodnim curkom, pri katerih vodni curek ustvarja generator tlaka/črpalka in pri katerih je največji dovoljeni delovni tlak višji od zgornje meje, določene v obsegu EN 60335-2-79.
