Plastics and rubber machines - Bandknife cutting machines for block foams - Safety requirements
This European standard applies to machines that are designed specifically to cut, split or peel block foams to commercially required shapes, using a single or double cut.
All hazards listed in clause 4 are covered by this document.
Cutting of block foams may be by:
vertical cutting;
horizontal cutting;
inclined cutting;
transverse cutting;
contour cutting; or
a combination of the above.
The material to be cut may be supported or transported by:
a fixed table;
a shuttle table;
a conveyor;
a turntable;
rollers;
mandrel; or
a combination of the above.
Cutting can be either manual or automatic.
Cutting tools can be:
smooth-edged or toothed bandknives;
cutting wires.
Movement of the cutting tool can be either oscillating or continuous in one direction.
This European Standard does not apply to:
laser and water jet cutting;
hot wire cutting;
wood, metal and food cutting machines.
The safety requirements for the additional hazards arising from the interaction between bandknife cutting machines and ancillary equipment, especially loading and unloading devices, are specified. The safety requirements for the ancillary equipment itself are not specified.
This European Standard covers machines used for cutting plastics and rubber having a cellular or compact structure. However, it may also be applied when these machines are used for cutting other materials, for example textiles, fibres and mineral wool, if cutting these materials does not create additional hazards.
This document is not applicable to bandknife cutting machines manufactured before the date of its publication as an EN.
Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen - Bandmesserschneidmaschinen für Blockschaum - Sicherheitsanforderungen
Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Maschinen, die besonders gestaltet sind, um Teile aus Blockschaum zu
kommerziell benötigten Formen im Einzel- oder Doppelschnitt durch Schneiden, Spalten oder Schälen
herzustellen.
Alle Gefährdungen nach Abschnitt 4 werden in diesem Dokument behandelt.
Das Schneiden des Blockschaums kann erfolgen durch:
- Vertikalschnitt;
- Horizontalschnitt;
- Schrägschnitt;
- Transversalschnitt (Querschnitt);
- Konturschnitt; oder
- eine Kombination hiervon.
Das zu schneidende Material kann unterstützt bzw. bewegt werden durch:
- einen festen Tisch;
- einen Schiebetisch;
- ein Förderband;
- einen Drehtisch;
- durch Rollen, Walzen;
- eine Spannwelle; oder
- durch eine Kombination hiervon.
Das Schneiden kann entweder manuell oder automatisch erfolgen. Die Schneidwerkzeuge können sein:
- glatte oder gezahnte Bandmesser;
- Schneiddrähte.
Das Schneidwerkzeug kann entweder oszillieren oder umlaufen.
Dieser Europäische Normentwurf gilt nicht für:
- Laser- und Wasserstrahlschneidmaschinen;
- Heißdrahtschweißmaschinen;
- Schneidmaschinen für Holz, Metall und Nahrungsmittel.
Die Sicherheitsanforderungen für die zusätzlichen Gefährdungen durch das Zusammenwirken von Bandmesserschneidmaschinen
und Zusatzeinrichtungen, insbesondere Beschickungs- und Entnahmeeinrichtungen,
werden festgelegt. Die Sicherheitsanforderungen an die Zusatzeinrichtungen selbst werden nicht
behandelt.
Diese Europäische Norm behandelt Maschinen zum Schneiden von Kunststoff und Gummi mit zelliger oder
kompakter Struktur. Er kann jedoch auch angewendet werden, wenn diese Maschinen für das Schneiden
anderer Werkstoffe wie z. B. Textilien und Mineralwolle verwendet werden, wenn das Schneiden dieser
Werkstoffe keine zusätzlichen Gefährdungen hervorruft.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Bandmesserschneidmaschinen, die hergestellt wurden, bevor CEN dieses
Dokument als EN veröffentlichte.

La présente norme s’applique aux machines conçues spécifiquement pour couper, refendre ou dérouler des blocs de mousse, en vue de leur donner les formes requises pour leur commercialisation, par simple ou double coupe.
Tous les phénomènes dangereux énumérés à l’Article 4 sont traités dans le présent document.
La coupe des blocs de mousse peut s’effectuer de différentes manières :
coupe verticale ;
coupe horizontale ;
coupe inclinée ;
coupe transversale ;
coupe en forme ; ou
combinaison de ces possibilités.
Le matériau à couper peut être placé sur, ou amené par :
une table fixe ;
une table coulissante ;
un convoyeur ;
un carrousel ;
des rouleaux ;
un mandrin ; ou
une combinaison de ces moyens.
La coupe peut être soit manuelle, soit automatique.
Les outils de coupe peuvent être :
des couteaux rubans à lame lisse ou dentée ;
des fils abrasifs.
Le mouvement de l’outil de coupe peut être oscillant ou continu dans une direction.
La présente Norme européenne ne s’applique pas :
au découpage par laser ou jet d’eau ;
au découpage par fil chaud ;
aux machines à couper le bois, le métal ou les produits alimentaires.
Les prescriptions de sécurité relatives aux phénomènes dangereux supplémentaires résultant de l’interaction entre les machines de coupe à couteau ruban pour blocs de mousse et leurs équipements auxiliaires, en particulier les dispositifs de chargement et de déchargement, sont spécifiées. Les prescriptions de sécurité relatives aux équipements auxiliaires proprement dits ne sont pas spécifiées.
La présente Norme européenne s’applique aux machines utilisées pour couper les matières plastiques ou le caoutchouc de structure compacte ou cellulaire. Elle peut toutefois s’appliquer également lorsque les mêmes machines sont utilisées pour couper d’autres matériaux, par exemple des textiles ou de la laine minérale, à condition que la coupe de ces matériaux ne crée pas de phénomènes dangereux supplémentaires.
