Plastics and rubber machines - Presses - Safety requirements

This document specifies the essential safety requirements for hydraulic presses, including toggle and hydromechanic ones, with a vertical closing movement more than 6 mm for the moulding of plastics and/or rubber. This document covers both compression moulding (see 3.1.1) and transfer moulding (see 3.1.2). All hazards listed in clause 4 are covered by this document. The following machines are excluded: - injection moulding machines (see EN 201); - presses for curing pneumatic tyres; - presses for curing inner tubes and curing bags; - hydraulic presses as covered by EN 693; - mechanical presses as covered by EN 692; - thermoforming machines (see EN 12409); - RIM machines (see EN 1612-1 and EN 1612-2). The safety requirements for the additional hazards arising from the interaction between presses and ancillary equipment especially loading and unloading devices are specified. The safety requirements for the ancillary equipment itself are not specified. This document does not cover: - the requirements of Directive 94/9/CE concerning equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres; - requirements for the design of exhaust ventilation systems. This document is not applicable to presses manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.

Dieses Dokument behandelt die wesentlichen Sicherheitsanforderungen an hydraulische Pressen, einschließ-lich Kniehebel- und hydromechanische Pressen mit vertikaler Schließbewegung von mehr als 6 mm zum Herstellen von Formteilen aus Kunststoff und/oder Gummi.
Dieses Dokument behandelt sowohl Formpressen (siehe 3.1.1) als auch Spritzpressen (siehe 3.1.2).
Alle Gefährdungen nach Abschnitt 4 werden in diesem Dokument behandelt.
Folgende Maschinen sind ausgenommen:
- Spritzgießmaschinen (siehe EN 201);
- Reifenpressen;
- Pressen für das Vulkanisieren von Reifenschläuchen und Heizbälgen;
- Hydraulische Pressen nach EN 693;
- Mechanische Pressen nach EN 692;
- Warmformmaschinen (siehe EN 12409);
- Reaktionsgießmaschinen und -anlagen (siehe EN 1612-1 und EN 1612-2).
Die Sicherheitsanforderungen für die zusätzlichen Gefährdungen durch das Zusammenwirken von Pressen und Zusatzeinrichtungen, insbesondere Beschickungs- und Entnahmeeinrichtungen, werden festgelegt. Die Sicherheitsanforderungen an die Zusatzeinrichtungen selbst werden nicht behandelt.
Dieses Dokument behandelt nicht:
- die Anforderungen der Richtlinie 94/9/EG bezüglich Ausrüstung und Schutzeinrichtungen zur Verwen¬dung in explosionsfähiger Umgebung;
- die Anforderungen an die Gestaltung einer Absaugeinrichtung.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Pressen, die hergestellt wurden, bevor CEN dieses Dokument veröffentlichte.

Le présent document spécifie les prescriptions de sécurité essentielles relatives aux presses hydrauliques, y compris les presses à genouillères et les presses hydromécaniques, qui ont un mouvement vertical de fermeture et une course supérieure à 6 mm et sont utilisées pour le moulage des matières plastiques et/ou du caoutchouc.
Le présent document couvre le moulage par compression (voir 3.1.1) et le moulage par transfert (voir 3.1.2).

Les prescriptions de sécurité relatives aux phénomènes dangereux supplémentaires résultant de l'interaction entre les presses et leurs équipements auxiliaires, en particulier les dispositifs de chargement et de déchargement, sont spécifiées. Les prescriptions de sécurité relatives aux équipements auxiliaires proprement dits ne sont pas spécifiées.
Ce document ne couvre pas :
-   les exigences de la Directive 94/9/CE relative aux appareils et aux systèmes de protection destinés à être utilisés en atmosphères explosibles ;
